Garden City Community Cats Project

Garden City Community Cats Project Controlling our cat population
with community compassion. Trapping, neuter and returning. GCCCP Practices
• GCCCP offers mass Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR).

It has been estimated one cat and its offspring can be responsible for 420,000 cats in 10 years. 80% of new kittens born annually are born outdoors! We schedule large blocks of spay\neuter appointments and fill them. TNR will only work if mass TNR is accomplished.
• GCCCP finds and works with the caregivers of feral cat colonies by trapping the cats; obtaining and paying for spay or neutering; and

providing transportation, pre-surgery boarding and post-surgery recovery. By working with caregivers (approximately 55 now) you can schedule their cats into blocks of appointments. The caregivers know their cats, eating times, ages, pregnancies, etc. and usually like to learn to trap. Much of what I do is manage caregivers into a GCCCP work force.
• GCCCP distributes free cat food and supplies to any feral colony caregiver. This keeps them actively neutering their cats and more willing to allow new cats into the colony.
• GCCCP gives free spay or neutering for ANY cat in Garden City because any cat is a potential stray. Plus, if there are cats inside that are not neutered they probably were feral at some point since shelters neuter all their cats.
• Everything is Free.

Qnote, a Japanese systems engineering company, welcomed eight rescued cats to their office and the team couldn't be happier! The feline employees roam freely, nap wherever they like, and interact with staff, helping reduce stress and bring smiles all around. Their presence has already boosted motivation and created a more relaxed, positive work environment proof that a little pawsitivity goes a long way!

Progress has given us more comfort, more convenience, more noise. Yet somewhere along the way, presence became optional and compassion became delayed. Possessions multiplied while attention thinned, leaving many busy but unfulfilled.

Philosophy and psychology agree that fulfillment is tied less to accumulation and more to meaning. Studies consistently show that connection, purpose, and contribution shape well-being far more than status ever could. A full calendar does not equal a full life.

Time is the one resource we never replenish. What we pour it into becomes our legacy, even in small moments. Choosing depth over distraction is an act of freedom, and living fully is a practice renewed every single day. 🕯️🧠

Our veterinary wish list: Every day, we care for hundreds of animals who depend on us for safety, medical treatment, and comfort. While we carefully plan for essential operating costs, there are critical items that fall outside our current funding, even though they would dramatically improve daily care for the animals we serve.

We’ve added these items to our wishlist because it would make an immediate, tangible difference—supporting animal health, staff efficiency, and overall quality of care. It’s a meaningful investment, and one we simply can’t make without help.

If you are in a position to make a larger gift this year, or would like to sponsor or fully fund this need (we can purchase at a discount), your generosity would have a lasting impact on thousands of animals who rely on us. We are grateful for every form of support, and for believing—like we do—that animals deserve the very best care, even when resources are stretched. Please donate online, on this post, or contact our development team to make a gift to cover the entire cost: [email protected]

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE! Thank you all for your support and generosity in 2025. We make a great team!

Giving Them All Another Chance

Feral cats are directly related to irresponsible people. We feel they deserve our love.
