📣NOT A SINGLE WILD ANIMAL WANTS TO LIVE IN A GLASS BOX ON A SHELF IN YOUR KIDS ROOM. 📣

For those confused
“Wild animal” meaning garter snakes, turtles, salamanders, toads, frogs, etc.
We have this stance because of the horrors we see. Most people don’t even buy proper set ups for these animals. Seriously, people will keep toads in a glass vases because it’s “a cute center piece”
-“my kid caught a garter and it lived in a 5 gallon bucket all summer”
-“we saved a baby turtle from the river, it lived in a 5 gallon aquarium for years”
-“we rescued a tree frog and it lived in this mason jar for months !”
These are the standard stories we hear. There is no lesson to be learned here other than that animal is for your amusement. A toy you can play with when you want, and ignore when you want.
We would prefer these situations be turned into teaching lessons for kiddos to understand humanity and empathy. Teach them to admire, and move to safety.
