🇺🇸 Today we honor and remember all of those affected by the events of September 11, 2001.

We would also like to highlight a special hero from that tragic day:

Roselle was a Labrador guide dog who, despite being afraid of thunder, calmly and expertly led her blind owner, Michael Hingson, down 1,463 steps from the 78th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower on 9/11. Her steady, focused presence, despite the pandemonium and falling debris, helped maintain calm among evacuees. Roselle’s unwavering dedication and bravery earned her numerous honors, including the Dickin Medal. She is remembered today through Hingson’s book Thunder Dog and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. 🎖️

🧪🤓🐾 🧬 Just like human medicine - there is always new information emerging in veterinary medicine!

🪨There has been a new type of urinary stone recently discovered. It has been linked to some of the newer fresh/refrigerated diets, as well as supplements due to an ingredient called tartaric acid, in the form of choline bitartrate. This is often used as a flavor enhancer.

😖Signs of urinary stones can include blood in the urine, straining to urinate and recurrent urinary infections.

We all want the best for our pets, and fresh certainly seems to be a good idea - but this is a reminder that companies like Purina, Hill’s Science Diet and Royal Canin have decades of research PRIOR to releasing a diet for consumption. No one wants their own pet to be the trial run/retrospective research.
