The Australian Shepherd ~ 🖤🐾🖤

It's always been a mystery to me why there's such discrimination against our breed's Black Selfs, Black Bis and Black Tri Australian Shepherds... 🤔

I stand in awe that our breed's "Blacks" don't meet with the same love, passion & excitement as Black Labs, Shepherds, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Rotties, Schnauzers, Canes, Dobies, Danes, Border Collies and AAALL the gorgeous black dog breeds that bring "Classic Black" into our worlds.

Even though our breed comes in 2 base colors- Black & Red- Black is the dominant color. We ARE a black dog breed!!! Black is the base color for our breed's well-known signature "little blue dogs!" Those li'l blue dogs would not exist without our beautiful Blacks!!! BLACK matters!!!

Black is an absolute Classic... 🖤

It's the shade behind "the little black dress" that every woman should have in her closet...or in some of our cases, the favorite black sweater that goes with our favorite black boots!!!

It's the color behind the epic Rock N Roll hit, "Back in Black!" by AC/DC. (The name of our Spring 2025 litter!!!) 🖤🖤🖤

I am SO thankful that our breed program at Libre Winds LOVES & HONORS our breed's Black Beauties!!! Our world is full of black and it always will be!!! It's a staple & the shade that establishes dignity & class wherever it appears!

If you know our breed, you'd need to get 16 Aussies in order to fulfill every color combo our breed offers!!!

Though our Aussies are issued in basic Black & Red, there are 16 different color patterns that stem from those 2 base colors with a wealth of variety within each color combination.

Our breed IS the color breed within Dogdom, & as it's been said, "Variety is the spice of life!!!" There's so much variety in the Aussie breed, we've got something to please everyone!!! Beautiful, intelligent, soft, fluffy babies full of personality ~ you can't go wrong with a well-bred Aussie & you CAN'T have just one!!! 😉

Libre Winds 'BACK IN BLACK" Litter!!!

We're excited to announce this upcoming event in Spring 2025! At Libre, we don't make a cross unless we have a personal need and we have a NEED!!!

In re-establishing our program from scratch (with bloodlines we've been personally involved with for 20+ years), we're so thankful to have been blessed with the gorgeous babies who've come to live with us here at Libre. So many exciting things happening in our little doggie world! With our desire to get back into the AKC and ASCA show rings, we need to fill our home with show babies and we're looking forward to THIS upcoming cross for that reason!🤞

This cross should provide us with darling AKC prospects sporting the phenomenal show bloodlines of Northbay X'sell and the foundation lines of ASCA Hall of Fame Kennels- Las Rocosa, Mistretta and Briarbrook. These babies will be li'l balls of fluff maturing with sturdy bone, big show coats, beautiful ear sets, lovely Australian Shepherd balance, movement, temperaments, expression and the most precious, li'l personalities! These babies' talents will be hard to beat plus providing the most exceptional foot warmers EVER!!! We're expecting black tris only from this cross but red-factored pups are a possibility- we LOVE our Blacks!!!

Send us a PM if you have an interest in reserving your own "Back in Black" baby! We have several of these kids already reserved (including our own little show prospect) and spaces are filling up quickly! Due to our limited breeding practices, it's unlikely this cross will be made again.
