Training in the skinner room! Turning this dog into our family personal protection dog. She barks, I mark it with a yes. She gets the bite as a reward. I give a little pressure swinging the leash over her head. She does great withstands it. I say out. She let's go. I give her a command to bite right away after the outs as a reward. She holds the wedge with a full calm hard bite. I mark with a click with my mouth, she gets rewarded.
I condition this puppy to bite fuller and harder. When I purposely give her a shallow bite, she will take it. When the opportunity presents itself, she does a full bite right away. You can see in the video. I use the leather wedge cover for the wedge because it is hard for a dog to hold on to when pulling as hard as I am in the video. The leather wedge cover protects the teeth from snagging on to anything. You do not need any teeth popping out. I do want to add, when the leather is wet from dog saliva and mink oil, it is very slippery. #dogtraining #holsingergermanshepherds #dopamine #dogtrainer #doglover #dogbitework #trainingtips

How do you know when you take too many pictures and videos? When your phone says it is out of storage! It did not capture the whole training session. I hate when that happens! Lol Will not happen next time. Happy Friday everyone! #dogtraining #dogtrainer #holsingergermanshepherds #germanshepherd #smartdog #dopamine #puppy #germanshepherdlovers #germanshepherd
A-frame chain link fence. I am always challenging this pup. This is her 4th time with the chain link A-frame. She will do it beautifully like she does a normal A-frame soon. The goal was her being comfortable enough, going over it and back. #dogtraining #dogtrainer #holsingergermanshepherds #germanshepherdlovers #germanshepherd #germanshepherdpuppy #heartandsoul #puppyoftheday #markertraining #happydogs #smartdog
A training session can end as fast as this. Make them work for each meal. It is that simple. #germanshepherdlovers #holsingergermanshepherds #makethemwork #furbaby #handsome #dogtraining #germanshepherd #positivereinforcement #markertraining.
All my collars are conditioned. This is what it looks like, for those that asked. This is her being mild. She usually packs a punch and throws her head full force up in the collar. Always creating love for the behavior. PS Do not mind the puppy in the background whine. She wants out to be worked with. She just started doing that. A little training and that will come to an end. #dogtraining #holsingergermanshepherds #ericholsinger #germanshepherdlovers #dogtrainer #smartdog #doglover #dogcollars #doglife #happydog
First time introducing Trudy her name. To train this way, the marker must be charged. That means, the marker must be a reflex response. In this video, the marker is my clicker. A marker is used to pinpoint a moment in time when the dog is doing the correct behavior you want. You have 1.6 seconds to mark the behavior. I am not doing this in this video. I am using the charged clicker to my advantage. This is one of many ways to teach a dog their name. As you can see in the video, it is very powerful. Towards the end of the video, I say her name, she comes without the clicker. That means she is making the connection. she did not come fast, but I rewarded her the rest of her food because I reward for small intentions and training must be fair. Next time, she will fly to me with heart and soul. She will no good feelings come when I say her name. Eventually, you will need no food. I will say, this is very good for her first time. The unknown cue comes right before the known cue. The unknown cue is her name. The known cue is the clicker. Like I said, this is one of many ways to teach a dog their name. A lot of people do not do it this way, but I can read my dog. I know what will work to better her situation. I will also add, in this video, it is all positive reinforcement. There is no leash or collar being used so no negative reinforcement. #dogtraining #germanshepherdpuppy #ericholsinger #holsingergermanshepherds #smartdog #clickertraining #Clicker #positivereinforcementtraining #positivereinforcement #goodtraining #germanshepherd #germanshepherdlovers
