Getting older doesn’t mean slowing down—it just means your pet may need a little extra care.

Senior pets bring so much love, loyalty, and personality to our lives. But with age comes changes in mobility, metabolism, and overall health. That’s why routine checkups become even more important in their golden years.

Signs your senior pet may need a wellness visit:
🐾 Stiffness when getting up or lying down
🐾 Changes in appetite, weight, or thirst
🐾 Increased sleeping or less interest in play
🐾 More frequent accidents or confusion

We offer tailored senior wellness care to help keep your pet feeling comfortable, active, and happy for as long as possible.

Let’s make every stage of life a healthy one.
📞 Call (775) 782-3693 to schedule your pet’s next checkup.

Let’s talk cat behavior.
Every cat has their own routine, but their favorite napping spot? That can be serious business.

🐾 Does your cat sleep in the same place every day?
🛋️ Or do they change it up constantly, keeping you on your toes?

Tell us below.
We love hearing about the curious (and sometimes chaotic) habits of our feline friends.

Is your dog shaking their head more than usual?
That cute head tilt or constant ear scratching could be more than just a quirk. It might be a sign of an ear infection.

Here are a few things to watch for:
👂 Excessive head shaking or ear scratching
👃 Strong odor coming from the ears
👁️ Redness, swelling, or discharge
😣 Signs of pain when touching the ears

Ear infections are especially common during summer, when swimming, allergies, and dry wind can all play a role—especially here in Northern Nevada.

If your pet is showing any of these symptoms, don’t wait. Early treatment can prevent pain and long-term damage.

Call us to schedule an exam and keep those ears happy and healthy.

Raising a healthy kitten starts with the right care from day one.
The first year of a kitten’s life is full of important milestones. From vaccines and parasite prevention to spaying or neutering, early veterinary visits help set your kitten up for a long, healthy future.

Here’s what we typically recommend during the first year:
🐾 Initial wellness exam and vaccine series starting at 6–8 weeks
🐾 Deworming and flea prevention
🐾 Testing for FeLV/FIV
🐾 Spay or neuter around 5–6 months
🐾 Microchipping for lifelong identification
🐾 Nutrition guidance and behavioral support

Whether you just adopted a new kitten or your young cat is growing fast, our team is here to help with expert care and personalized support.

📞 Call (775) 782-3693 to schedule your kitten’s checkup.

Planning one more summer getaway? Don’t forget your pet’s travel checklist.

Whether you're heading to Lake Tahoe, camping in the Sierra, or just taking a weekend road trip, a little preparation can make travel safer and more comfortable for your pet.

Here’s what to include before you go:
🚗 A secure crate or harness for car travel
💊 Medications, vaccination records, and flea or tick preventatives
💧 Plenty of water, a portable bowl, and their regular food
📍 An updated ID tag and microchip info
🧸 A favorite blanket or toy for comfort on the road

Also, be mindful of elevation changes. Pets can experience nausea or fatigue just like people, especially if they are older or have health concerns.

Need a refill on your pet’s flea and tick prevention before you go? We’ve got you covered.

📞 Call (775) 782-3693 to get road-trip ready.

If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.
During summer in Northern Nevada, pavement can heat up quickly, especially during midday walks. On an 85-degree day, asphalt can reach over 130 degrees. That’s hot enough to cause painful paw burns in a matter of seconds.

Use the 7-second rule: Place the back of your hand on the pavement. If you can't hold it there comfortably for 7 seconds, it's too hot for your pet.

Tips to protect your pet’s paws:
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Stick to grass, dirt paths, or shaded trails
🐾 Try dog-safe booties for extra protection
🐾 Check paw pads regularly for cracks or redness

Their paws carry them through every adventure. Let’s keep them safe.
