Aria and Ms Jenny took a solo ride this morning on the trails of Wylie. Volume up for some soothing hoofbeats! And yes, Ms Jenny frequently dodges trees that Aria "happens" to go under.

Smokey is turning 22 next month! He wanted some protection for his feet on the rocks and while he is working without having to wear shoes; so we gifted him a pair of Scoot Boots! Happy early birthday Smokey!

When your horse tries to help you fix the fence that they probably helped break... Aries provided Ms Jenny excellent moral support mending the arena fence. If there were cookies involved he would have helped hold the fence in place but he firmly believes in "no pay, no work!"
One of our most frequently asked questions is how the horses got a certain cut or scratch on them.
Allow Taz, Aries, Apollo, Hudson, and Gideon to demonstrate their favorite game of Bitey Face!
The geldings tend to play a rough and tumble game that we call Bitey Face. It's all fun and games but occasionally a tooth accidentally connects a little too hard with another horse's skin and a scratch occurs!
Play is believed to occur in horses from a young age to practice their battle skills to defend their herd from predators and other horses. In the wild, stallions would need to defend their ladies from being stolen by other stallions. You'll see them rearing and biting just as a wild stallion would do. However, our mellow guys are far from wild, have been castrated/neutered, and have never had to defend themselves against an attacking stallion or a predator so they remain in play mode and are generally gentle with each other! You will catch the boys playing alot when the weather is on the cooler side!

Aria is Ms. Jenny's personal horse of nearly 6 years and is just the best mare ever!

We had some questions about how Taz is doing for his inflammatory airway disease treatments- so we decided to show you! The whole process takes about a minute twice a day for 5 days then once a day for 5 days. Puffs need to be timed for when he inhales.
He could get up to 6 months or even a year of coughing relief due to his allergies/asthma. Send him positive vibes that this will help!! Here he is being a champion for his 3rd day of Aservo Equihaler treatments- with snacks of course!

Ever been creeped out by your horses??
The tapetum lucidum is what causes this eerie glow and reflects light so they can see better in the dark! Many animals including cats and dogs have this as well!

Eirwen and Freya had an extra chance to stretch their legs while Ms. Jenny and Ms. Sara had parking lot duty watching the boys. Enjoy our commentary 🤣

Baker the Barn Meownager was everywhere today supervising. From taste testing for quality control to inventory, there she was. So lucky to have her looking over our shoulders to ensure the horses are well cared for!

Our No Stirrup November has been a blast this year!! I love how game our students are to push themselves to do things that are truly challenging! We always see huge improvements in confidence and skill when December comes around and stirrups are returned full time.
Our students do spend time without their stirrups throughout the year. November just allows them to earn points for their hard work and compete against each other for the chance at a trophy and free lesson!
Stay tuned for the results TOMORROW after our final students compete!! (Or Friday if Ms Jenny is super tired after lessons tomorrow night :) )

Aries LOVES Starbucks just like we do! He sampled a Pumpkin Spice Chai and a Gingerbread Chai and approved! It gave him the boost he needed to teach this morning 😋
