𝗔𝗞𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗽𝗽𝘆: for puppies 8-18 weeks old to introduce obedience and begin socialization
𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗳: for dogs over 18 weeks old that have had no previous training. Introduction of basic life skills and manners
𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀: for graduates of Star Puppy and Diamonds classes. Works on skills with added levels or difficulties and distractions, positive veterinary visit focus as well.

An icon in our field as well as many others💔 Grateful to have had both of our trainers study her practices and become certified through the Karen Pryor Academy as Certified Training Partners.

Today, we join in mourning the passing of Karen Pryor, a trailblazer in animal training, behavioral psychology and marine mammal biology. She was a world leader in the science and application of marker-based positive reinforcement, also known as "clicker training."

She first developed modern, force-free animal training methods in the 1960s, and has changed the lives of countless animals and their caretakers at zoos, oceanariums and pet households.

In 2001 she founded Karen Pryor Clicker Training (KPCT), and in 2010 she joined our Animal Behavior and Training Advisory Committee (now Scientific Advisory Committee) to lend her expertise to enrich the lives of pet owners, animal professionals and the animals they live with, work with, or study.

Throughout her life, Karen focused on creating a culture of kindness for humans and animals alike. "I consider my gifts as a scientist to be the ability to synthesize apparently opposing fields of thought and to apply theory in the real world.” –Karen Pryor
