We gave Dr. Burkett this ornament to honor his legacy with our birds.

Today was our last visit with Dr. Burkett before he retires on 12/31/2024. We wanted to do one last follow-up on Luna, who is now our old guy turning 17 next week.

There are a lot of emotions to process. Dr. Burkett has cared for all 9 of our lovies over the last 19 years with us as his client, not to mention all the babies we raised, 4 other breeding lovies, 3 parakeets, 1 cockatiel, and 1 Amazon. It is a tremendous loss for the bird community and for us personally. Words don't adequately describe the appreciation we have for him. He is the reason we launched the bird store! He's laughed, challenged, cried, and shared so many more emotions with us. We will truly miss him, but wish him the best in his retirement.

Just like that, broken again. Tammy Turtle is gone. 💔 34 years old. It's really rough having lost BeBe also just a month ago. Please pray for us, send virtual hugs (or just hug us if you run into us), and send some love our way. We really need it.

Tammy Turtle is not doing well. Pray for us while we decide what to do. She doesn't appear to be suffering, just shutting down. She's 34 years old and with a typical max lifespan of 40 (couple decades in captivity normally) she's definitely defied the odds. (pictures are from awhile ago)

Thank you, Birdhism, for your amazing stickers and kindness. This morning I cried missing my BeBe, and today, my order arrived with the halos included for BeBe and Mango. Jen, your stickers carry special meaning in our hearts and having each of our beloved fids in our daughter's room on the tree are a loving reminder of the space they take in our heart. We added claw prints to both cars today as well. Y'all, just order from her. They are worth it.
