Atreyukatz Cattery “The Premier Lykoi Breeder in VA”
Hello, my name is Melissa Ryan. I was born and raised in New Jersey. From the crazy streets of Jersey I moved to WPB, FL for 6 years plus. I am now located on beautiful Lake Gaston, VA. I’ve had a love for Felines, Exotic Felines/Exotic Wildlife,Reptiles, and small animals my whole life. I’ve been in Domestic Rescue, Exotic Wildlife Rescue, and Exotic Feline care for the most part of my juvenile and adult life. My dream was always to own my own Sanctuary with Cheetah’s, African Servals, and Caracal cats. Seeing as I now live in a state where all that is illegal, I had to compensate somewhere for my love of Felines. I bought a huge home on some acreage and now I’m breeding thee most awesome cats in the world.(to me anyway!) Lykoi Cats are not only awesome but they are just stunning/odd looking/scary looking/ and most of all the weirdest cats you will ever meet! And if you know me, I LOVE weird! I’ve also ventured out into breeding Devon Rex Cats as well. They are the sweetest, smallest little pixie cats in the world. They are truly unique, michievious, and mysterious little kitties who just love affection! Lykoi’s and Devons are not only thee most social cats I’ve encountered but they are also the most amazing hunters.( I often compare my Takaani to a bomb sniffing dog, she can track down anything you try to hide! It’s truly amazing) Lykoi’s are also extremely loving cats and will follow you everywhere. They are like a cling on cat or parrot cat, always on ur shoulder or by your side. I fell in love with my first Lykoi and Devon and I never looked back. I wanted to breed them but I wanted to do some research first. I come from a, “adopt don’t shop” kind of world...so when I realized that Lykoi cats are a second chance breed, that was it. I had to start breeding them and I want a Lykoi or Devon in everyone’s home someday. I want another person to feel the amazement, and the love that I had when I held my Takaani Wulf for the first time. The fact that the Lykoi Breed came from shelters, barn yards, and feral communties just solidified my want for breeding them. I dropped all the other cats I was researching to breed and my full heart and focus went into the Lykoi and Devons. And I’ve never been happier on my decision. My program may be a tad different from other Lykoi/Devon breeders, but overall wth the same focus on breeding this breed for full and perfect overall health of the breed, socialization, temperment, and a little bit of my very successful training techniques. Where I vary from other Lykoi breeders is that they are mostly maintaining the Breed Standard look and color of the Lykoi. I wanted to branch out and do various colors of the Lykoi while still breeding the Show Standard color(Black Roan) for the people that want to show their kittens/cats in the Catshow world. ESP now that one of the Cat Show Associations started accepting various colors of the Lykoi Breed. I do ALL my own outcrossing and nothing but the cats with best health and socialization will be used in my program for furthering my lines. The colors I plan on having in the future are as follows: Seal Pointed Lykoi, White Lykoi(possibly white Odd Eye and other various patterned/colored Odd Eye Lykoi), Black Roan(of course), Blue Lykoi(dilute of black), Tortie Lykoi(females only ofcourse), Red Lykoi, Brown, or Black Spotted Tabby Lykoi, Tuxedo Lykoi(black and white also known as Bicolor), and Blue Tuxedo Lykoi. I wanted to do this because these are the rare colors and Personally I LOVE rare colors. I will ONLY be producing these colors to people that request them until I make my own lines of the various colors. And ofcourse more than one person has to request a certain color. (I won’t breed a full litter for one person basically and I don’t believe in breeeding uneccasary cats that don’t already have homes to go to.) I will consistently have Black Roan and Blue(dilute) in color. I’m very strict with what I believe in because of my backround and I hope people will understand that about me. Future note: ALL colored Lykoi are more rare then the usual Black Roan, so this also means they will be more money. So please keep that in mind as well.
This is MY program and this is how I want to manage it. These cats are gorgeous, amazing, and rare. So if your lucky enough to be a owned by one or 2 :) of these amazing Lykoi, your definetely in for an amazing treat with these babies. All my cats come FULLY VETTED. That means with me you get: All booster shots done except for 3rd and final one, Rabies shots, dewormed, FELV/FIV testing, F***l testing, full PCR panel on each kitten (which I will be testing for Chlamydia,Bordetella, Feline Herpes, Mycoplasma,Giardia Screened, and lastly Tritrichomonas.), microchipping, full socialization, leash and harness training, REVOLUTION (parasitic) already started, TICA and CFA registered kitten(to show if you wanted), and of course little perks with me as well. I don’t just throw kittens in a carrier with a towel and ship them to you if shipping is needed. NO matter what, your Kittens will come with samples of the amazing food I use and instructions on how much to feed, where to get food, and how much food costs. Kittens will also come with a custom baby blanket that can be washed if anything gets on it during shipping or car transport. Kittens will also come with a few samples of our amazing Lykoi shampoo from a great friend who only uses organic products and will also include instructions on where to buy and how much. And finally kittens will come with a full health record, a folder with certain things that I know this breed likes(treats,toys,beds, ETC and where to buy those things and how much they cost.) I’m very organized, thorough, and a**l and want the best for my babies. So a kitten questionaire form/First Right to Refusal form,Contract/ and a 5 day First Vet Visit form all will need to be filled out and verified by me on for accuracy as these are MY BABIES! ALL my Lykoi will ONLY be going to pet homes(fully spayed and neutered) No exceptions and I DONT sell breeders. So please don’t even bother asking me. And thats basically it. It sounds like a lot, but for a pet parent it won’t be a lot at all. You’ll be getting an amazing Lykoi that’s trained to walk with you(if you wanted and will at least be used to a leash and harness), and will be car trained so you can take them places with you, they’ll be healthy, gorgeous, loving, and they’ll just want to be loved and played with by the time they go to their new homes. A pet parent should want ALL of that in their new kitten.
Some will say I’m strict, I say I’m thorough. Wouldn’t you agree and wouldn’t you want all this for your new kitten? I sure hope so.....My Cattery name is Atreyukatz Cattery. For me it represents when I was in another horrific lifestyle that I got out of, and am now living my dream. I thought I was going to be in that lifestyle forever and not make it. I had hope, experience, guidance, and prayers to get me out of that life. Now, I am truly living my dream One Day At A Time and truly realize my story is Neverending.... :)
