If your pet was microchipped with Save This Life, your pet will need to be re-registered as Save This Life has closed. These microchips may no longer have owner information linked to them.

🔹 If your pet was microchipped at Lineberger, you have registered your pet to your account and ensured your information is current, there are no action steps needed as we have not used Safe This Life.

✅ If your pet has a Save This Life microchip or if you are unsure who your pets microchip company is, please see the information below:

Re-register your pet’s microchip with a new provider as soon as possible.

If you don’t have your pets microchip or your
not sure if your pet’s microchip is still registered, we’re happy to scan your pet and check for you!

You can re-register your pet for free through the AAHA-connected Free Pet Chip Registry at https://www.freepetchipregistry.com/, or register with PetLink at https://www.petlink.net/.

Peanut butter is a favorite treat for many dogs! While it can be a fun and tasty snack, it’s important to know how to safely share this creamy delight with your furry friends. Here are some tips for pet parents:

✅ Peanut Butter Do's:
- Choose Natural, Unsweetened Options: Look for peanut butter with no added sugar, salt, or artificial ingredients. The best choices list just peanuts on the label.

- Moderation is Key: Peanut butter is high in fat and calories, so offer it as an occasional treat to avoid weight gain or upset stomachs.

🚫 Peanut Butter Don'ts:
- Avoid Xylitol: This sugar substitute, often found in “sugar-free” peanut butter, is highly toxic to pets and can cause life-threatening hypoglycemia or liver damage. Always check the label before sharing!

- Skip the Additives: Flavored peanut butters (like chocolate or cinnamon varieties) can contain ingredients that are harmful to pets.

🚨 When to Call Your Vet:
If your pet eats peanut butter containing xylitol or shows signs of an upset stomach (vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy), contact us right away or if it’s after hours, an emergency clinic right away.
