The owner of this dog was a single mom with 3 kids, and no money to pay for vet services. Neighbors sent a Facebook message to all the vets in the area asking for help. We responded, offering our help. The dog was unable to see out of one eye and the tumor was rapidly growing. Due to the severity of the situation, our medical director removed the tumor the same day the dog was seen. We did not charge anything for our services, and gave the neighbors who had driven 2.5 hours to come to our Clinic $50 to reimburse them for gas. If you want to help us help more pets and families like this one, join with us to build our dream of an affordable, full-service vet hospital. Now until the end of the year, a grant from will match your gift dollar for dollar, up to $60,000! Click here for more info https://gastonspayneuter.com/algc-vet-hospital/

Thanks to everyone who donated food last round. Between your donations and finally getting a larger pallet donation, we have been good for the last couple of weeks. We are now getting low in the Pantry again and currently have no word if we are getting another pallet full soon. Thanks so much to those of you who donate food on the regular. Words cannot express our appreciation for your generosity. Here are the links for anyone that would like to help this round:

Olivia was brought into the Shelter with burns all over her body, including the bottoms of her feet. Poor Olivia was in such bad shape that she couldn’t sit, stand or lie down without experiencing excruciating pain. Olivia received treatment at our clinic and after her recovery, she was adopted by Andrew. Another amazing, life-saving story! Congratulations to our wonderful TNR volunteer, Ray Jordan, for being awarded a plaque recognizing his contributions to our community by trapping over 3000 stray cats and getting them to a clinic for spaying or neutering. His contribution to keeping the feral cat population in the area under control is immeasurable! Thank you Ray!

We have said many times that every child should grow up with a pet, if the family can take good care of it. Here is proof: Layla was adopted this week to a family with an 11 year old and a 6 year old. She will be well cared for and teach her children about unconditional love and what it means to be a responsible pet owner. Layla found her home with the help of our Pets to Go! program. There are 4 puppies left in her litter. Contact [email protected] for more information.

This outside kitten was in dire shape when he was brought to us. Although an elderly lady was leaving food outside for the kitten, he couldn’t eat because of the terrible infection in and around one eye. We knew the situation required emergency care, and we started him on antibiotics immediately. The day after his first visit, we removed his damaged eye. We worried he would not survive surgery, but we also knew that he would not survive without surgery. This kitten had the heart of a lion! He came through surgery like a champ and within hours he was eating. He had a full recovery and was adopted. His name is Cannon and he is living the good life! If you want to help us help more pets like this one, join with us to build our dream of an affordable, full-service vet hospital. For a limited time, will match your gift dollar for dollar, up to $60,000! Click here for more info https://gastonspayneuter.com/algc-vet-hospital/

If you call and need to leave a message, please leave your number or we will not be able to return your call. That is possibly why some don't get a call back when they leave a message. We have a couple everyday that do not leave their phone number. Landline voicemails do not give us the number like a cell phone. Thanks so much as we want to give everyone a call back.
