Our clinic performs an array of routine surgical procedures and highly recommend utilizing our surgical laser (even for routine spays/neuters) which results in less bleeding, pain and faster healing; we offer laser therapy which has been found to be beneficial in treating arthritis & numerous other inflammation complaints; small animal dentristy with digital dental x-rays, in-house diagnostics, digital x-ray, ultrasound, routine & wellness exams, vaccinations, medications, preventative medicines, micro-chipping, baths, limited grooming, indoor climate-controlled boarding and daycare facilities and we offer farm/house calls. We recommend and stock prescription Hill’s Science Diet and Royal Canin pet foods. Dr. Newman understands how important it is to be available in the event your pet, horse or livestock becomes ill or injured after hours. Update 8-30-24. Still no help or owner found but my neighbor has decided to keep the 2 dogs on her property so we can neuter and vaccinate, hoping to find them a new home after she can put some weight back on them. We are starting them on Flea and Heartworm prevention also.

Update 8- 26-24. Finally got the friendly one scanned and no microchip. The other one still wont let me near him. Still need help finding a place for them to go. They will have to be Euthanized soon, my neighbor does not want them and they are starting to explore around my place. I have 2 goats and a mini pig that can't defend themselves, so something will need to be done soon if we are going to try and save them. Anyone that can help, please let me know.

This small little darling is still looking for a new home. She is probably not going to get much bigger than 5.5 lbs. She is so sweet and lovable. June Bug will be up front at Bar N Veterinary Clinic if you would like to come meet her.

Hey everyone! We got a new adoptable animal here at Bar N Vet Clinic. This sweetheart was living in our desert garden in front of the clinic for almost a month before we could catch her in a live trap. She was so skinny, wound/ scabs on her face and grasshopper legs impacted in her mouth. She was obviously not catching any mice. She weighed a mere 3.6 lbs and after 1 month she is at 5.6 lbs. We have treated her wounds, vaccinated and spayed her. She is Felv/FIV negative and current on flea prevention. She is acclimating well to being inside and loves people. Good with kids and noises. Doesn't seem to be too bothered by dogs or other cats.
Adoption fee will be a donation to go back into our Charity Fund. Please call Jamie at 254-865-8466 if interested.

8-14-24 ~ 2 stray male dogs showed up at my neighbors house and they have come and gone every few days all last week. We posted to try and find owner but nothing. No collar or tags. Not chipped
🚨New Home Needed ASAP.🚨 They will have to be Euthanized if no home is found soon.
My neighbor does not want these 2 dogs and my house is full. 😥 2 intact male 8 months- 1 yr old Pyrenees/ Golden Retriever mix??
Most likely these 2 boys were dumped or ran off together. My neighbor is out of town for a few days so I'm going by to check on them. They are very skinny with some matted hair and fleas so they have been loose for a while it seems. They both are friendly, smaller male is very timid and doesn't seem socialized at all. He was scared of the metal bowl I put his food in. 😥 (see video). The bigger one is very friendly but doesn't let the smaller one finish eating. I did the best I could by myself to keep the bigger one occupied while the smaller one got to eat. I will come better prepared tmro. They were both very thirsty and hungry today. They are very very skinny with their hip bones sticking out, can anyone take one or both of these dogs?

ADOPTED 7/13/23! Meet Conway Kitty! 🤠 He is currently Up for ADOPTION! 9 week old Male DLH Super sweet and playful. He has had his 1st upper respiratory vaccination. Scheduled to get his Rabies and 2nd upper respiratory vx on the 19th of July. ADOPTION Fee: $100 pre-pays for neuter when he is old enough, 2nd upper respiratory vx and Rabies as well as 1 month flea prevention. Call 254-865-8466 if interested. Up For Adoption! This little 7-8 week old female kitten is looking for a new home. She was found all alone and brought to Bar N for a check up by Animal Control Officer Glimp. Nadalee, our Kennel Technician offered to take her home to take care of since she was only about 4 weeks old and we didn't want to see her go to the shelter alone. She is healthy, weighs a little over 1 lb and is ready to go to her new home. She will get her first upper respiratory vaccination Monday. She will need one more booster as well as her Rabies vaccination when she is old enough. Adoption fee will pre-pay for her Rabies and Spay at 50% off at Bar N. Update 4/25/22 ~ Adopted and going for a trial run! 👏🏻🥰 💖Up for Adoption! 💖 Falkor is a 1 yr old neutered male Persian looking for his purrfect family. Weighs about 6.6 lbs, Current on Vx He wasn’t doing very well in his last home since there was another cat in the household that he didn’t get along with so he started having some urinary problems caused by stress. He developed a urinary tract infection and started urinating outside the litter box. He was relinquished back to Bar N to see if we could get him better and find him a better fit. He has finished his round of antibiotics and has been started on a special calming food (Royal Canin- Calm) for the last 2 months and is doing great on it. 🔸He must be brushed daily or his hair mats up quickly…bonus is that he loves to be brushed. 🔹He is getting along pretty well with our blind clinic cat Blinky so we are optimistic that he will do well in a home with another cat as long as their personalities match. Although, he would much prefer to be the only cat getting all the attention. 🔸Falkor is not a very playful cat so if you want a lazy lap kitty, he is your man. He absolutely LOVES his cat tree, scratching posts and being up high to look down on his human servants. 🛑Vet references and adoption fee apply. *Adoption fee goes towards his Vx and care while at Bar N Also must be able to provide: * cat tree * scratching posts * special food ~ $55.01 for 8.8 lb bag of Royal Canin Calm which lasts approximately 4 months. * Must be able to brush and groom him on a daily basis to maintain his special hair coat to prevent matting of hair. Taking him to a groomer to have him shaved is also an option but will need to provide him with shirts and sweaters to help keep him warm. Call Jamie at 254-865-8466 if interested in adoption.
Casper
Meet Casper, from Gatesville Animal Shelter. He is a sensitive soul who loves everyone. 🥰 Approx 1 yr old Male Sharpei mix? I had to take him out of the shelter as he was not eating well, losing weight he didn’t have to lose and had a previously broken elbow on his front leg I wanted to get examined. I brought him to Bar N and haven’t been able to let myself take him back. His previously broken elbow can’t be fixed as it has already healed, he will need to be on a joint supplement to help with arthritic changes as he gets older. ⭐️He is current on vaccinations and is Heartworm negative. He gets along with other dogs, cats and loves kids. He knows how to sit with a treat of coarse. 😉 Casper has separation anxiety and should not be left alone without more training being in a kennel/crate. He has been destructive when left outside for short periods of time. He is going to stay with Jaileigh (one of our Vet Tech’s) over the Thanksgiving holiday so he can have some in home crate training and much needed one on one time. Update 11/26 ~ Casper did really good with his crate training and slept in his kennel all night and even stayed 3 hours in the kennel the next day with little to no stress. He even started to play with his nylabone. He is so willing to learn and has so much love to give if someone is out there willing to give him a chance. 🥰 Call 254-865-8466 and ask for Jamie with questions or if interested in adoption.
