Has been given 3 rounds Pup vaccines 2 rounds Kennel Cough Vaccine has been on Heartworm prevention since 8 wks old has been on Flea/tick prevention since 14 wks old. Rabies vaccinated, Heartworm negative and neutered. Dewormed every 2 weeks with Fenbendazol. until 4 mo. adoption fee $150.00. plus $25.00 microchip fee. Intake 12Nov24: BooBoo. Intact 5 Mo. Female Lab mix. Has been provided with all puppy vaccinations, Rabies Vaccine, dewormed, current on heartworm & flea/tick prevention’s. 22.5 lbs & microchipped. Crate training is going quite well. Sweet little girl. Never met a stranger. Playful but not hyper. Pending spay. Adoption fee is currently $89.00 with approved application & Contract to spay. Marshal Dillon & Miss Kitty. Bonded pair of Chihuahuas. Est. D.O.B. 06 Aug 22. Both are altered. Vaccinations current. Heartworm negative and current on preventions. Microchipped. These dogs are very bonded to one another. They are somewhat skittish of people as they spent a great deal of their youth avoiding coyotes and other predators after being dumped as pups in a common dump site outside of McGregor. They have been adopted once from Ccprnokill and returned after three months because they would not bond with their new humans. These two dogs require a great deal of compassion, patience, and no brutality in their lives to learn to trust humans. They were in rescue for a couple of months prior to their first adoption. Ccpr volunteers and workers would handle them and hold them every day. We would let them know by touching them that humans can be kind. We did not wait for them to come to us. We simply picked them up and walked about with them, petting them, talking to them, singing to them until they relaxed and then sat with them for a while and let them relax longer in our arms on our lap before we would put them back together. These are not the kinds of dogs that will come to you for attention- you have to make the effort. Barbi is coming back to work this week. Her prognosis is good as her outlook has always been. She has lost some weight but she is a fighter and will always be here for the rescue dogs and for the Boutique that supports Coryell County Pet Rescue No Kill. Let’s all welcome her back with warm wishes and healing thoughts, energies, and prayers.

Whenever I visited my grandfather, he always preferred to be alone, rejecting any attempts to engage with others. I decided to change that by introducing him to a small dog I had rescued from the street. He named the dog 'Chirulin,' and they quickly became inseparable, enjoying activities together like sunbathing, eating, going for walks, and watching TV.
Recently, my grandfather fell ill, and during his hospital stay, he wrote me a letter outlining how to care for 'Chirulin' in case he didn’t make it. He even included his special recipe for the soup he prepares for the dog. In that moment, all I could think about was asking him to write me a recipe for living without him.
He entrusted 'Chirulin' to our entire family. When he was discharged from the hospital, we brought 'Chirulin' to him. My grandfather hugged the dog tightly and whispered, “We need to hurry and do all the things we’ve left to do together; there’s not much time,” breaking into laughter. He had made a list of activities he wanted to share with his faithful companion.
Seeing the bond between them, it’s evident how much they love each other. To those who say that pets are "just animals," I would respond: “Animals are a gift for the soul, teaching us tolerance, respect, and love—the kind that unites rather than divides. Loving them teaches us how to truly love.”

ADOPTED 25NOV2024 WITH CONTACT TO KEEP APPOINTMENT TO SPAY (NEW OWNER TO PAY FOR SPAY ON 2JAN2025. Autumn: Female Intact 1 YR old Dachshund /Jack Russel Terrier mix. From Bell Co. They had her more than 21 days and took her to the Cadence Bank Center for the Pet Adoption Extravaganza Put on by RESCUE MAGAZINE EVERY YEAR with ZERO vaccines and she was in season, so they Grossly dubbed her "salsa". That was simply too vulgar a name to keep. CCPR took this poor dog to our vet only to find that she had three severe infections caused most likely from filthy living conditions. She is now SAFE. at Ccprnokill. ""Autumn"" was tagged by CCPRNOKILL on 13Oct2024. WE tagged her & 2 other pets in the event that if they were not adopted at the Extravaganza by end of day WE would bring them into our NOKILL program. Happily, one of the three was adopted, the other two (this poor girl once dubbed "Salsa" & an Emaciated dachshund chihuahua mix named "Pumpkin" we took into our program. SHOCKED we were to find that NEITHER DOG HAD BEEN PROVIDED WITH ANY VACCINATIONS WHATSOEVER. NO PARVO/DISTEMPER, NO KENNEL COUGH VACCINE BEFORE A PUBLIC EVENT. Coryell County Pet Rescue - No Kill has taken care of the vaccines, de-wormer, ear mites, unkempt, nails, bathing, & so on. Autumn had to be treated for infections at our veterinarian & has a date set for spay in early January. Very disappointed in the downfall in the care at Bell Co shelter, they used to be so much better. With a Millennial in charge, we fear they may end up as bad as Marlin shelter. Please Pray.
