I'm just a Shelter worker trying to find a way to spread the word about the wonderful Dogs and Cats available for adoption at Jackson County Animal Shelter in Gautier, Mississippi. For $65.00 you can adopt a dog or cat. That includes their spay or neuter, rabies vaccination, a 5 in 1 booster, a Bordetella, a free wellness exam to any Vet in Jackson County. It's partnerships like these that help us save lives. Please consider adoption. Adopt! If you can't adopt, foster! If you can't foster, volunteer. If you can't volunteer, donate! If you can't donate, educate. Sometimes, the difference between life and death is you. Don't walk away, adopt don't shop!

Beau is available for adoption! This sweet boy just loves other dogs and people. He is crate trained and seems to be house trained. Beau is in a foster home but we will get you in touch with his foster, if you are interested. Beau is heartworm positive but would be a perfect candidate for slow kill which he has already begun. He also has an injured back leg but it doesn’t slow him down. He does use the leg as a kickstand. This is an old injury that isn’t causing him any pain. Beau does know hot to sit and loves to play fetch and in true lab fashion, I’m sure he would love to go swimming!

Who wants some fun kittens?? Fishie and Froggie are two male domestic short hair 8-9 week old kittens looking for a home! They are loads of fun! Open 10-4 today kittens are $25 right now!

Our Story

The staff at the Jackson County Animal Shelter work tirelessly and are passionate about our animals. We try to give them the most loving environment possible while they are in our care. This page allows us to showcase our animals and provides a way for our community to help spread the word about our animals, events, and adoption specials. Our standard adoption fee is $50.00, which includes: spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, first set of vaccinations, a free veterinary examination (with participating veterinarians), and a free name tag from Two Dogs Dancing (in downtown Ocean Springs). If you see an animal on our page that you are interested in, please feel free to message us, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
