Pretty solid show day, we had two shows total

Rex
Show A - Best Opposite of Breed
Show B - Best Of Breed and Best Opposite including Reserve in Show!

Show B - Best Of Breed

It was pretty cool watching Priscilla Barron getting Best in Show with her Rex in A and us getting Reserve in Show B

Today I’m glad we’ve been hoarding broken black bucks. NF75J has been the best producing buck we’ve ever had. He has produced many winners for us. Today he passed away for unknown reasons. We have around 25 of his sons and grandsons to carry on his legacy. These are pics of him as a junior.

We spent the weekend going through rabbits and selecting our keepers. We will have a limited number of rabbits available for convention this year. Back in January we were having issues getting our Tucker Mill feed. We switched to a well known feed and had 3 tons shipped in. Within a couple of weeks we were losing rabbits. We lost around 50 mini Rex brood does, our main Rex herd buck and over 100 juniors. We culled hard this weekend and will do it again in September. We are holding back a lot of these to replace our brood animals we lost. So there will be a small selection of available animals this year. They will be from our keepers. Look for our list around the end of September.

Noble Fur’s JohnnySins, broken opal junior buck. This guy was on our cull list but when we went to tattoo his brother we were keeping, we noticed the brother had an injury so we kept JohnnySins instead. He’s been out of the barn twice and has 2 Best of Breeds and 4 Best Opposites. Hopefully he gets a senior leg soon and can go into our fall breeding program.

Noble Fur’s Sandstorm, broken castor senior doe. This girl is 🔥. She has a rock solid body with a coat to die for. We sent in her registration and grand champion today. She has six Best of Breeds, one Best Opposite and a Best in Show so far. Her show career is just beginning.

I never got around to posting how we did in Rex sweepstakes in 2023. In my defense the points weren’t published until a couple months ago. Pretty pleased we finished the year in the top 10.
