PSA: if you normally leave a radio or television on for your pets while you are away, today is the day to turn them off between 2:20 and 2:50. Today is the day for the nationwide emergency alert test. Many pets are sound sensitive and can really act out of you are not home and they get scared.

Update: Cautiously optimistic, yet happy to announce, that at least for now, or phone is finally WORKING again! Woo hoo! More changes to come as we work to get ourselves off the old copper landlines. Rest assured, you can always message us here, even if we encounter more service interruptions. Thank you all for your patience this past week!

Our phones are still not working. This is very frustrating for us and it must be for you guys too. We apologize for the inconvenience. We have been calling the phone company everyday and all they keep telling us is that we just need to wait. In the meantime, you can contact us thru messenger.

Independence Day is coming up soon! If your dog is afraid of loud sounds you can try Kim Brophey’s Box Fan Hack.

Behavior tip: Box fans work wonders for breaking up the sound waves in the environment. Make sure they are NOT pointed at your dog if they’re confined to a crate or room but toward the doors or windows away from your dog. It has to be a box fan, like the ones we used to talk into as kids and make our voices sound funny.

This is an X-ray of a dog’s bent front leg. See that tiny white spec? That’s a microchip! It has migrated down the leg....far from where it was inserted, between the dog’s shoulders. This is actually quite common.....

When lost pets are scanned, the entire body SHOULD be scanned to catch any that have migrated. But, as an owner, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AT THEIR YEARLY VET EXAM, to ask for a quick scan to make sure that: (1) the chip is still working, (2) the location of the chip is good, and (3) that the chip info is correct.

Remember microchips save lives and reunite families with their pet.... just have it checked regularly!

This hazardous chewy toy is a by-product of the leather industry, not the food industry (which is why most are labelled as non-edible and/or dangerous if swallowed). The chemicals it takes to make this unsafe chew, from start to finish, is staggering!

Want to learn more about the safe treats that will nourish your pet without the list of chemicals, check the out the #1 The New York Times bestseller The Forever Dog book - https://foreverdog.com

ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

Titanium dioxide is on The Forever Dog’s Dirty Dozen list of additives you need to avoid in your pet food. www.ForeverDog.com/about
