This sweet mare is still available! Reduced to 2-5-0-0

"Lola" (JC: Sweet Betty Joyce) is a 7yr old 15.2 hh thoroughbred mare. She came off the track in 2022. She has been with us for several months and is going WTC and started over small courses. She has competed at several of our home/schooling horse shows this season.

She was purchased as a first horse for a family that was hoping to lightly trail ride, however she needs a more experienced home. She is a forward but very rideable horse. She is in front shoes, goes in a plain snaffle and is an easy keeper.

She would be well-suited for an ambitious junior or pony clubber working with a trainer, or as a project horse to continue developing. She is not appropriate for a beginner or first-time horse owner. Please reach out for additional photos/videos and more information.

Congratulations to three of our riders on their wins at this year's Retired Racehorse Project!

Free Shipping & Lexie Lerner competed in Dressage and Freestyle. They ended 59th in Dressage and qualified for the Freestyle Finale in the top 5. They took home 3rd place overall for Freestyle, as well as 3rd place amateur for Freestyle.

Brooklawn & teammates Julianne Pangal and Ashley Olin competed in Show Hunters and Dressage. They finished 38th in Show Hunters and 21st in Dressage, taking home 1st place Dressage Team as well.

Both horses are currently available.

Although it's a little rainy in the morning, the afternoon forecast looks good for tomorrow's Leg Up Stables July Hunter Pace! This hunter pace includes our Intro cross country course, with 12+ fences 2' and under (all have go-arounds). Teams of 2 or more riders, junior riders must be accompanied by an adult. We hope to see you tomorrow!

We will be offering a team challenge for competitors at our Leg Up Stables Intro Level Event 2024. Please FB message or email us with your team of 3 riders. The team with the highest combined score and reserve highest combined score will win an additional prize!

Remember, entries for our intro event must be post-marked by this Friday, July 19th. We are also hosting an afternoon dressage schooling show (Ride-A-Test) in the afternoon after our intro level event has concluded. Please message us with any questions!

We are saddened to share the passing of two of our beloved school horses, Pete & Fargo, over the long weekend.

Pete has been in our Leg Up Stables family for well over 30 years. He has taught and influenced many young riders and always entered the IHSA ring with a triumphant whinny. He was a patient participant at pony camp, a fantastic gaming mount and foxhunted/evented throughout the valley many years ago. He will be greatly missed.

Fargo was born and raised on our farm in 2008. His comfortable gaits made him an irreplaceable beginner lesson horse, teaching riders to safetly walk/trot/canter. He was well loved by so many of our college students.

We would love to hear your memories of these two wonderful geldings ❤️
