As a mom (of the two and four-legged kind!) and toxin expert, I’ve had the honor of sharing simple nontoxic cleaning tips with on TV shows across the country and in publications like Forbes, Time, Martha Stewart, and Good Housekeeping, and I’m thrilled to bring the same level of care and attention to your dogs at Boomer's Beach!

I won't post them often here, but I thought this article might be a good one to share - and it explains why we don't use bleach to disinfect (we use a nontoxic disinfectant that deserves its own post)! The products we use are truly nontoxic - from the laundry powder to the dish tabs to everyday cleaner and disinfectant - so you can make sure your pups aren't being exposed to toxic chemicals that are harmful to their health.

I'd thought I'd share this article because it talks about why bleach shouldn't be used around pets, but it also discusses what other surfaces in the home it shouldn't be used on, not only because of the fumes but because of the damage it can cause to certain surfaces.

Thank you so much for your patience with our construction these past few days! One day turned into two, but we’re so close now! We are in the process of moving the outdoor run (aka the potty area) from across the parking lot to right outside our front doors! A door had to be added so they had to saw into the building - not an easy feat! The door will lead straight into the new run. And today was finishing up the door and finishing the bottom and adding the peat gravel. We’re so excited!

Daycare is closed 9/30/24!

Due to construction finishing up an extra day, we have to close daycare on Monday, 9/30. While a majority of the work is being done outside, there will be some work inside to finish up. So to keep the noise at a minimum for our boarding dogs, we will be keeping everyone (and by everyone, I mean dogs 😁🐾) in the rooms behind the desk to keep the noise at a minimum. Please understand we are doing this for the benefit of all the dogs, and that canceling last-minute was a tough decision but we believe is in the dogs’ best interest.

If you had a daycare reservation for tomorrow, it has been canceled but we would like to offer you a free day of daycare (check your email and/or messages on the app). The next time you book it will be on us!

Update: the noise inside is minimal and we can barely hear it in the room behind the desk or on the back 😁 Bringing them in may be the challenge but once they’re in we’re fine!

We're under construction today! We are moving the outdoor run (aka potty area) directly next to the building (woohoo!) so today sawing into the building will be happening for the next several hours. We are open, but would recommend not bringing your dog to daycare until after 1 pm when the noise will be done. The dogs we currently have will be kept away from the noise and will be kept busy. Thank you for understanding!

Urgent help is needed! If you've ever wanted to foster, now is a great time! Several of these dogs are set to be euthanized as early as Thursday if they can't be helped by Wednesday (9/25). Those sweet faces 💔🐾 Please share!

Today has been a busy day so far, and we seemed to have just about every dog we know show up for daycare and boarding 😃 And while we absolutely love to see our furry friends, moving forward, we will require a reservation for both boarding and daycare. Not having reservations places a huge strain on our staff, and can also create confusion and stress for the dogs when someone new comes in every few minutes on such a busy day.

We realize that this is not what a lot of our customers are used to, but our priority is the safety of your furry loved one and our team. We are increasing and training the number of staff we have on hand so that we can better serve you and your dogs, and we are working on ways to carefully curate the play groups. Our goal has always been to create an amazing experience for your dog during their stay, and every decision we make is based on their safety and well-being. To make a reservation, please call or text us at 630-457-5583, and or book online at boomersbeachgeneva.com. Please note that if you book online, your reservation is considered “pending” until we approve it, so please don’t arrive until you see that the reservation is marked as “confirmed.”

**Updated to add: it’s very helpful for us to know when a dog is coming in and we prefer 24 hours advanced notice, but we also understand that things come up last-minute.
