Helping Waldo Feel His Best! 🛁✨

Meet Waldo! This sweet pup has been dealing with some skin issues, and we’ve had the pleasure of helping on his healing journey.

For the last month we’ve seen Waldo twice a week to provide medicated baths, a big part of his care. He’s improved greatly and we’re glad to be able to be help him!

The welfare and comfort of our four legged friends is the highest priority of our care while grooming. At Southpaw Grooming you and your pet will be treated, not like a number, but like family, with the love and care that’s deserved! 🐾

🐾Shed Happens 🐾

Let’s be honest, ALL dogs shed. Depending on the type of coat they have varies the amount of hair they shed.

Double-coated breeds, for example, grow a soft, light undercoat that can prevent air and water reaching their skin, if its severe enough, not allowing the skin to “breathe” (see diagram)

Regular visits to the groomer with a shed control service will help tremendously with getting the undercoat out, allowing your pup to have a healthy coat! 🐶

🐾 Progress is Paw-sitive! 🐾

At Southpaw Grooming, we understand that nail care can be a big step for many dogs, especially when it comes to filing. That’s why we’re thrilled to celebrate the small wins in desensitizing pups to this important grooming step!

Here’s what we’ve been doing:
✨ Building Trust: Every session starts with plenty of treats & positive reinforcement!
✨ Step-by-Step Approach: Gaining confidence to the sound & feel of the file at their pace is key!
✨ Patience & Praise: Lots of pets and encouragement make a world of difference!

Our Emmie and Nala were terrified of getting their nails trimmed and filed since they were young. With using this approach, today we celebrated their first nail filing session without issue!

We can’t wait to see other pup’s progress too!
