Autumn Green Animal Hospital Our unique hospital combines aspects of both western and eastern medicine to provide an integrative approach to therapy, treatment and preventative care.

Our philosophy is based on an integrative approach to enhance preventative care and illness treatment at all stages. Our traditional Western approach focuses on education coupled with prevention to avoid illness and disease. Western medicine includes wellness exams, surgery, dentals, digital X-rays, diagnostic blood work, parasite screening, and urinalysis. Our alternative Eastern approach treats your pet as a whole being. By evaluating physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of health, we balance the body and enhance the quality of life. Alternative medicine includes acupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy, massage, Reiki, therapeutic laser, essential oils and Chinese herbs. And you might think Georgy gets excited bc there are treats at the end… he actually does not like treats! I’ve tried offering them many times, he would rather get down to business after his greetings. As you saw his turn around when I asked if he was ready— he does this EVERY visit. 💙

We're getting excited for springtime at Autumn Green AH! 💐

This sweet girl had a right rear knee injury years back and recently went through a bought of pancreatitis. She has been feeling quite a bit better these days, and mom decided to try massage to help with her mobility. Old injuries translate to a chronic holding pattern - in Roxy’s case, left sided neck tension. Pancreatitis creates hunching in the spine and guarding in the abdomen, which leads to tight muscles stuck in an arched posture. Massage relaxes tension, aiding in resetting a better posture throughout, and also smooths any belly troubles. Win-Win! We will aim to revisit her muscles in a week’s time to see how much progress we are making!

Bob is the sweetest 19 year old kitty! 🐱 He recently began animal chiro care for rear end weakness. He is now neurologically intact, meaning if we flip either of his back feet, he can tell where they are at and that they are upside down, and promptly corrects them. So now we want to focus on keeping that and getting him more mobile. If we can strengthen his hamstrings (the extension muscles located on the backside of his thighs), this can help greatly with his rear limb strength. Cats can be a bit difficult to work with doing any sort of PT exercises, but a super easy way to get most cats to engage their hamstrings is a simple b***y scratch! Wa-la, up the b***y goes with a nice swift contraction in those hammies.

I think he was starting to get a little tired when we pulled the camera out, he was really doing some wonderful engagement with the first few attempts.

If your cat is starting to get weak in the rear, this is something so simple that you can do throughout your day. From a sit is more difficult, from a stand will work too. 🙂

Healthier/stronger muscles = better strength, support, and stability… which also = he will hold his adjustments I’m giving him better too! 💪🏼

POV: You’re a dog that gets super excited for their chiro visit. 🥰 And you might think Georgy gets excited bc there are treats at the end… he actually does not like treats! I’ve tried offering them many times, he would rather get down to business after his greetings. As you saw his turn around when I asked if he was ready— he does this EVERY visit. 💙

Bob is the sweetest 19 year old kitty! 🐱 He recently began animal chiro care for rear end weakness. He is now neurologically intact, meaning if we flip either of his back feet, he can tell where they are at and that they are upside down, and promptly corrects them. So now we want to focus on keeping that and getting him more mobile. Meet Sherman! He is the bestest boy for his adjustments… and just starting out care at 58 years old, he’s received some great benefit! 🦜 His main issues when starting care were the left side of his pelvis and also left side of his neck. His mobility was decreased down his left side due to this. You’ll notice his neck adjustments still were all on the left side at this visit, BUT he has so much more mobility and the muscle tension he used to have there is now gone. His owner has noticed nice improvements. You’ll also notice in the beginning that I massage his talons. I find older parrots benefit from this in helping to promote better blood flow to their feet. Most pet parrots use their talons and beaks more than their wings to get around, and they are quite strong. They tend to enjoy it, some even close their eyes. 😌
