‼️ARRESTED FOR SPEEDING‼️

Recently, ALEA Sr. Trooper Caitlyn Ramirez was running stationary radar on U.S. 231 near the 87 mile-marker in Pike County. Sr. Trooper Ramirez noticed a red Chevrolet Camaro traveling northbound towards Montgomery at an extremely high rate of speed, 155-mph in a 65-mph zone. Sr. Trooper Ramirez pursued the vehicle and during the pursuit she was able to clock the vehicle again but at a higher rate of speed 165-mph.

The Montgomery Sheriff's Office assisted Sr. Trooper Ramirez and the Camaro was ultimately stopped inside Montgomery County.

Shortly after, Sr. Trooper Ramirez arrived on scene and began questioning the driver concerning the excessive speed. The driver replied, "I just got the car three days ago and wanted to see how fast it would go." Subsequently, the driver was arrested for Reckless Endangerment and transported to the Pike County Jail.

Traveling at speeds this fast not only endanger your life but also endangers the lives of everyone around you. If caught traveling at these speeds, you will go to jail.

Governor Kay Ivey has signed into law an expanded version of Alabama’s Missing and Endangered Persons Alert, now to include an adult that has been abducted, effective Friday, Sept. 1. The State of Alabama has four Missing Person Alerts: the Amber Alert, Emergency Missing Child Alert, Missing and Endangered Persons Alert and Blue Alert. The Amber Alert is a nationwide program in which most states adhere to the Department of Justice’s recommended guidelines and criteria for the alert.
