Bernice is back home as well!
She will no longer be having kittens under decks 😊
Thank you to all who made the spay/ neuter of 9 cats, one eye removal, and one unfortunate euthanasia due to illness possible.
That will be a lot less cats on Hollywood now 😉
I will continue to try to catch the elusive grandma and grandpa, the oldest, and therefore the wisest of this colony.
Mission: catch grandma has commenced!
And the BIGGEST thank you Kris from Toledo Keeping the Faith for her dedication to this trapping and all of her hard work! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
We released one eye today and once free he ran under the deck where the resting his colony lives.
Everyone who has been trapped is now reunited and will no longer be making babies 😉
As most of you know, I started as a dog rescue. Not that I have anything against cats, I had cats my entire childhood and up until a few years ago. Dogs are just what I was drawn to.
So I am learning all about TNR like the rest of you.
Today when I brought the latest kitty to Kris, she invited me to video the intake/ hold over process.
The cats have an intake room that is its own little heated house where they stay while waiting to be vetted. They cannot be mixed with other cats because they have fleas, some are sick, some have disease, and we just don’t know who has what. So every time a cat is caught, the room and the traps all have to be completely sanitized. It’s a lot of work!
You’ll see in the video they are fed and given a Drontal dewormer in their food, given water and remain in the trap until they go to the vet. They are kept covered because it keeps them calm so they’re not thrashing in the trap. If uncovered, they are thrashing and looking for a way out. It’s really sad that humans have sentenced them to these lives 😢
Anyway, Berniece ( named after the street she lives on), will be spayed in the morning by, recover for the day to make sure she’s all good, and be released Saturday.
We hope you’re enjoying learning how TNR works and letting others know how important it is to spay and neuter your pets.
So Hollywood #6 actually turned out to be an already neutered male. His ear tip wasn’t easily seen and since we already had him, he received antibiotics for his respiratory infection, an updated rabies vaccine and Revolution flea and tick treatment.
Pet food pantry
Thanks to @rescuepack for making this possible and a very amazing new supporter-Sandra and her husband Hector for taking time to drive to West Chicago to pick up and help us offload with Dorah too- we received our pallets of food and potty pads!
All this food is out front at W1382 Greenview rd Genoa city for those in need
We are also opening it up to our colony feeders since we did receive more canned car fire than we thought
So grateful to those that make our mission of helping pets and their peope possible going on 3 years now 🙌🏻

Puppy love
And this my friends is a perfectly crate trained puppy!
She knows that is her safe space and when I gave her a bone to chew, she went right to her crate where she knows no one will bother her 🙂
Many people think crate training is cruel, however if done properly, and never used for punishment, it is a wonderful tool. It keeps her, and our things safe, while she’s in the puppy stage when we need to leave the home. She has no issues going in, gets a high value reward for doing so, and is happy.
Once old enough and past the chewing stage, she will no longer need it. But it’s always good to start them in a crate at a young age so they are comfortable should they ever need it for crate rest after surgery, during a natural disaster etc.
Dinner time!
Hungry, Hungry puppies!
Silly pups!
We have some silly puppies who figured out they can see themselves in the dishwasher lol
Morning exercise club led by Luna! 😂
Guys! This is day 2 ( and a half) since Luna ( the bigger brown dog) arrived and look at her go!
She’s a happy, friendly girl and doing so well with my little pack.
She’s gonna be someone’s new best friend soon. 😊
