Unfortunately no photos of the eggs as I didn't have time to take a picture of them, but our new leucistic Spanish Ribbed Newts have had a couple small batches of eggs! (Didn't count, but looks to be around 75+) and I wouldn't be surprised if there will be more tonight. Assuming they make it to full term, start preparing your aquatic newt setups- lol.

Speaking of aquatic amphibians, our baby Axolotls are getting bigger everyday! Hopefully in another week or two they will be getting their back legs.

We got some new geckos and lizards that I'm excited to share in the near future once they are settled in. πŸ˜ŒπŸ–€

Probably some of the last new species we will be adding for the near future. Gonna focus the rest of our time-money to a project long in the making. The final additions will be here tomorrow. πŸ–€

We have here a trio of Helmeted Chameleons (Trioceros hoehnelii) a severely underrated species related to the Jackson's chameleon. We also got a trio of White Lipped Tree frogs (Nyctimystes infrafrenatus) which are the heaviest and largest of all the tree frogs. Finally, we got a pair of Egyptian Diadem Rat Snakes (Spalerosophis diadema)

Absolutely adore this new pair of Long Tailed Grass Lizards (Takydromus sexlineatus). Incredibly inquisitive, bold-tame small lizards.

Though a commonly imported reptile, there is little captive breeding for this particular species. Well that's got to change!

Absolutely crazy over here lately. Me and T have been working on our new bioactive enclosure looks, and making everything look more professional and eye appealing. Meanwhile other things have been taking off! First off, our new pair of Cuban False Chameleon Anoles (Anolis barbatus) (female pictured). Absolutely crazy Anoles that are also distant relatives of chameleons. Incredibly prehistoric lizards.

We also had a new Cuban Knight Anole hatch out! This one is absolutely amazing looking with thick white banding going down it's body, and a beautiful blue hue to it's green skin.

Can't wait to share more!

Got another dream animal species! (And some others) all setup in quarantine. 😁

The first photo is of 2 out of 3 of the CH Desert Iguanas 'Dipsosaurus dorsalis' I got in. (The other little one hiding underneath the hide.) These have been a dream of mine to own for the past 5 years of exotic keeping. Incredibly underated.

The next is of a red-sided garter snake 'Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis', one of the pair that I had received from MJS reptiles. (Thanks Max!) And the following picture after that is of two of the three southern/peninsula ribbon snakes 'Thamnophis saurita sackenii' I had also gotten from them.

I also received another trio of river frogs 'Rana [Lithobates] heckscheri' from them to expand my other trio. Had to get more they are irresistible! (And slowly becoming one of my favorite species of Amphibian) these are pictured below the snakes.

I also may or may not have some more exciting animals to share in the very near future. 😁 Can't wait.

(Apologies if this doesn't fit right on insta. Originally made on Facebook.)

Completely thrilled by this morning! This little one bursted out of it's egg within an hour of checking this morning. This is a little Cuban Knight Anole (Anolis equestris) that we waited eagerly for two months to hatch. He has a sibling on the way in about another month!

This species is the largest of the Anoles, some individuals have been known to get upwards of 18in. Much much larger than your typical green and brown anoles! Infact this baby alone is as big as a green anole.

Though not a super uncommon lizard in the hobby, they are rarely bred in captivity, due to the low cost of wild caught imports that come from Florida. However, captive bred is always the way to go. No parasites, no stress from being collected and shipped and overall just a healthier animal that can be worked with to be tamed down.

Absolutely a great day to be a reptile keeper. Well, any day that has reptile shipments is a great day! Got in ten Amazon Tree Boas (Corallus hortulana) looking a little male heavy, at six males and four females. But i'm not 100% yet and will be checking in the near future. First things first, getting them all checked over and quarantined!

If anyone knows anything about this species...it's usually all about their extreme defensive nature. They strike more than almost any other snake on the planet, and have a mouth filled with massive fangs. However, they more than make up with it with their incredible personalities, and colors! Definitely an amazing "look, but not touch" display animal. 😁

Super cool! Just got in some captive bred Southern Toad tadpoles! (Anaxyrus terrestris) Thanks to Benjamin's Exotics, check them and their YouTube channel out- where you can also see the parents of these tadpoles.

Though a common species of toad in the south, these aren't readily available, and even rarer yet captive bred. Hopefully this stock can further continue on for many generations. Will be updating these guys for sure as they get legs and become toadlets. 🐸

Absolutely stunning. Look at this bark! Wait... What's that on the bark? Why, that's a uroplatus sikorae! A mossy leaf tailed gecko! Two of them to be exact. Absolutely one of the dream species we are working with here now. Hopefully we got a male and a female. πŸ™ Absolutely remarkable.

One of our recent and really cool additions. One of our new display fish, a African Tiger Fish. Specifically (Hydrocynus vittatus) these guys get absolutely massive and have a mouth full of huge teeth. (On adult specimens they tend to stick out even when the mouth is closed)

Even on this small 4.5in tiger fish, his teeth are absolutely massive for his size. Definitely not something you would want to be tagged by.

Veronica our Cuvier Dwarf Caiman is absolutely enjoying her new setup. She has been doing amazing as of late, especially with socializing. I can now pick her up without a single bite attempt. Also got a rough estimate on her age, she is roughly around 2 years of age.
These are such amazing and intelligent animals. Can't wait to see what the future holds for her with us. 🐊

As some of you may have heard. We are coming up with some big ideas for the future here at LWS. Me-Austin, Tiara, our friend and secretary/motivator to say the least, Salvador, are taking the first baby steps to opening an exotics pet store.

Now, this is definitely a first, for all three of us. We all have experience with a large variety of animals, more than most. We believe we can bring a educational and impactful store to our community. Also offering only the healthiest of critters for you, your friends and family.

We will strive to make this a positive, educational and friendly environment. If you want to support us, we have a gofund me at the top of my page. As we reach certain milestones we will be sharing our progress there and here so you know exactly where those funds are going. Of course you don't have to donate at all, but any loose change you may have would be greatly appreciated.

Let's make this dream a reality! 🦎

Completely forgot to share these beauties! These are three Richardson's Ground Squirrels that we plan on trying to breed. These guys aren't particularly easy to find to say the least, and most are wild caught due to their difficult to breed nature in captivity.
This is a new project for us here at LWS, as part of our attempt to expand to other types of animals, and in this case, exotic mammals. We will do our best to keep you all updated on these guys! Can't wait to see what happens. 😁

Talk about a super cool amphibian. You don't see these regularly in the pet trade so I had to jump on them as soon as I seen them! (Pun fully intended)
These are two young Smokey Jungle Frogs, (Leptodactylus pentadactylus) sometimes referred to as a South American Bullfrog. These guys can get to a incredible 7-8in in length. (Not including leg spread) that's a massive frog! Can't wait to get some more size on these guys. 😁

Wow! This little gal been gaining some weight! Looks so much better than when I got her last month. She's really filled out! Though little to no change in her temperament. *Had to start wearing gloves due to the rapid fire bites she was giving lol*

Definitely incredibly stoked to have her grow up to adulthood. Don't think I've been this happy about a reptile ever before. Just something do fascinating with this species. Absolutely remarkable. 😁

What an amazing moment. Finally got another dream animal, one that I've been wanting for years. This is a juvenile Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman (Paleosuchus palpebrosus), one of the two legal crocodilians you can own in Ohio without a permit. (In most counties)

This one appears to be female, which means she will stay pretty small at around 3-4ft. She has some amazing color to her, normally they are pretty drab with a mixture of tans and deep browns. She does have a slight attitude, but nothing close to some I've seen.

Can't wait to see her grow! Definitely will be posting more of this girl once she settles in. 🐊

Tiara has had to hear me be in absolute annoying delight since this little guy hatched. But for good reason!
This egg has been on a journey, now, this isn't a super rare species or anything. It's a Giant Day Gecko. (The same as what the Geico gecko is) They lay their eggs in pairs, sadly we were trying to use a new incubation medium and during this it's siblings eggs was lost due to the medium not holding the proper level of moisture (nor retaining it for long) we had a problem with gnats and them trying to get into the eggs to lay their larva.
During this time I was checking the egg twice a day, for roughly 40-ish days. Every morning and night to make sure to keep the bugs away, the moisture right, and to even at one point move it to a whole new container with different medium. I thought I lost the baby, since it was supposed to hatch last week. But to my surprise last night we had him running around the container lively as ever! The things we do for the animals we raise. ❀️ Also, I will never try to replace vermiculite as my main substrate for eggs again. Lol.

Something I don't show very often that I've been working on for a few months now. My reef frag tank, home to many zoa corals and a few other types of corals. Everything is looking great! 🐠

Another new addition, though this one isn't a breeding project as much as it is a personal pet. (Excuse the dirty glass) This is a Three Toed Amphiuma, one of the largest amphibians by length. These guys can grow to an astonishing 4ft.
This one is only about 2-2.5ft at the moment. So he still has some growing to do. Definitely will have to post updates to this amazing critter!

08/19/2021

One of our new snakes having a blast with their fish mix. The one eating here is a Green Water Snake (nerodia floridana) and the other ones with the banding pattern are Florida Broad Banded Water Snakes (Nerodia fasciata pictiventris)
We were expecting them to come in as juveniles, but as you can see they are much, much larger lol. Oh well, just means another large enclosure will need to be made so we can separate them a bit more. 😁

They are getting so big so quickly! 😁 Looks like the seven baby veiled chameleons are doing amazing.

What an absolutely amazing year so far it's been for hatching reptiles. So many new species we've been adding to our list.

This is one of 5 that have hatched from this clutch of Veiled Chameleons, and number six is emerging as I type this.

My Short Bio

My goal as a kid was to be a zoo keeper, I was always outside, catching the native wildlife. Now in life I have grown so attached to reptiles, that I now want to make a business out of it! Make my living with these reptiles! So all purchases help me get to this dream!
