My name is Roger Carlson and I am the owner and operator of Howling Hollow Taxidermy, Licensed,Insured (D.N.R. My goal is to provide top quality work at competitive pricing. I freely disclose all my prices for basic mounts but will provide quotes for additional bases or scenes you would like to have added to your mount. I work with customers on an individual basis to help them afford the mount the

For the most part I am self taught, but I have also studied under some of the top Taxidermists in the nation. All of the work you see is actual customer mounts not competition mounts. Man that was a lot of fun! Sitting at 151 right now. I'm so grateful for all of you. You have no idea how much I appreciate the opportunity to work for you folks. Who would have thought some 13 year old kid putting together his first deer would have at almost 50 been able to work for some of the best people on the planet, all over the country! Been on TV shows, magazines, had our mounts in catalogs. I'm humbled everyday. Now that the dust is settling I can get back to mounting I'm a touch behind but ill be caught up in no time. Bringing the tanning back home required a time check to see where we would end up. I was close. So in closing I can't say thanks enough. Next year though it's going to be just deer, turkeys, and skulls. That 12 to 14 month turnaround is what I live and die by.

Happy Thanksgiving folks! I got all the shoulder mount skinning caught up now I have a pile of euros to skin and prep. I will be back to mounting here soon. I'm a touch behind but will be caught back up in no time.

Same goes with processors, most are awesome! don't let them sit there in a box rotting. Google has a great translator app also if you need it. As soon as that deer hits the ground the clock starts. lo antes posible, rápidamente!

Hey folks, here we go! I'll be open tomorrow also 11-23 until 3 for intake. Good luck, be safe. Make sure them old boys aren't cheating in poker, enjoy that chilli, the stories, and everything else that comes with this magical time of year. You only get so many Novembers. Im mounting number 2154 today. I'm a touch behind but I'll be back ahead of the game shortly after the dust clears from rifle season. Calling once a week doesn't help trust me I put way more pressure on myself then anyone else ever could. I try to never go into the 14 month range...but with bringing the tanning back I might have a few that do. 12 is my happy place. Alright have fun and I cannot wait to see what comes in.

Excited to be here, this is how I set eyes, to me it's the most important thing on a whitetail, or any mount imo. I'm not the best anything. This is just how I do things. Still have a few whitetails to tan. But we are rolling full steam ahead! If your taxidermist uses preset eyes.....they're not a taxidermist. They're a model maker. And doing your trophy a huge disservice.

I'm going to mount this bird to show what we mean. Some people just don't know. Us northern folks deal with this, while the southern folks deal with slippage.
