"We are on the hunt for a very SPECIAL person or family for our LONGEST Resident, Tucker."
Tucker is estimated to be between 5-6 years old, he is heartworm negative, 100% housebroken, walks like a gentleman on leash, and loves toys. He will run after a ball, but bringing it back is a challenge for him. π€£ With long legs he stands taller than the average lab and weighs about 70lbs.
Second Chance has been home to hundreds of dogs over the past few years. Of all the animals to enter our doors, Tucker has been our hardest to place dog ever. Simply because he has grown so close to us and he is so close to our hearts. π
When Tuck first arrived with us he would shake uncontrollably with fear and because of that fear he had bitten someone before coming to our facility. He was put on a 24 hour list to be put down, and we were able to rescue him just in time. It only took about two weeks for Tucker to trust and become attached to our director who was working one on one with him. Within a month he was playing with her children, giving kisses, and going for rides all over town.
Tucker has been passed over and over by adopters because when they meet him, he reverts back to his standoffish behavior. And adopters immediately say, "Oh, he loves you so much, you should just keep him." Unfortunately, if we kept every dog that attached to us, we wouldnt have room to foster anymore. :/ Though the thought has definitely crossed our minds, Tucker needs a home environment. He deserves the absolute best. And we will make sure he gets nothing less. So, with that said, HELP US FIND TUCK the PERFECT FAMILY!
What kind of adopter Tucker needs: πΆ
πSomeone who is going to give him time to open up and gain his trust. (at his own pace)
πA home with room to run, or at least go for walks daily. (He gets the zoomies, and loves to walk through our trail in the woods with us.)
πThough he loves our children, we think he would do best in a home without children under 11.
πTucker needs to be an inside dog. (He loves his bed, is not destructive, doesn't jump gates, or use the bathroom inside.)
πTucker has been around cats and dogs of all sizes. He has always been curious but gentle. Showing no aggression to others.
If you think you would be able to give our sweet boy a forever home. Please contact us immediately at 843.344.3749. We can answer any questions you may have as well. β
We will also let serious adoption inquiers foster, Tucker for a few weeks to ensure he does bond and become a perfect fit before having you commit to an adoption. Adoption fee has been sponsored.
