🍁 Important Thanksgiving Reminder 🍁

We wanted to remind our valued clients that we will be closed this Thursday, November 28th, for Thanksgiving. We'll be reopening on Friday, November 29th, to continue serving you and your pets. Here are a few helpful reminders as the holidays approach:

📋 Refill your prescriptions today to ensure we have enough time to process them before Thursday.

🐾 If you're traveling or boarding your pet, double-check that their vaccines are up-to-date.

📦 Keep in mind that shipments may be delayed during the holiday season. If you order medications or Royal Canin dog food from our online pharmacy, consider setting up auto-ship or ordering in bulk to avoid running out.

And finally, just how cute does our patient Romeo look in his Thanksgiving tie?🥰🦃🍂

🍂🐾 Thanksgiving is just around the corner now, and as we gather around the table to enjoy a delicious feast, let's not forget about our precious pups! While it's tempting to share our meals with our dogs, it's important to know which foods are safe and which to avoid. Let's keep our pets healthy and happy this holiday season by sharing only the safe and delicious options!

If one of your pets does get ahold of something they shouldn't, you can always call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center. The APCC is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call (888) 426-4435.🦃🍠🐶

🐾 Case of the Week 🐾 Boo Boo, the Herniated Hound 🐶

Meet Boo Boo, the sweetest 12-year-old mini schnauzer. Boo Boo came to us with a painful protrusion on her abdomen, and after a thorough examination 🩺 and ultrasound by Dr. Jolly, she was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia. In dogs, this condition occurs when abdominal tissue or organs push through the inguinal canal and can be life-threatening if not treated. 🚨
Fortunately, Boo Boo's story has a happy ending! She underwent a successful surgery to repair the hernia and is now back to her lively, tail-wagging self. 🎉 A big thank you to our dedicated team, Dr. Jolly, and Booboo's family for trusting us with her care. 💙 👏 🐶

🍁 🦃 While Thanksgiving is a time for sharing, when it comes to our feline friends, some holiday foods are best kept off their plates. During the holiday season, you may have guests visiting your home that may not realize that certain foods may actually be harmful to our pets. 🐾 Here's a list of common Thanksgiving foods that cats should avoid to keep them safe and healthy, and a few things they can have if you just can’t say no to their furry little face. 🐈 ❤️✨

🐾🐶Canine Corner🐶🐾

Introducing Reggie, a 10-year-old Mini Schnauzer. 🐶 Reggie's owner brought him to us because he was having trouble urinating. An X-ray conducted by Dr. Rogers revealed several bladder stones, with one that had traveled to his urethra causing an obstruction—a condition that needed immediate attention! 🚨 Reggie successfully underwent a cystotomy, a procedure to remove bladder stones, and is now on the road to recovery! He recently returned for a follow-up and he couldn’t wait to thank Dr. Rogers for his excellent care. 👏 🥰

Did you know that bladder stones are mineral formations resembling rocks, often caused by disease or inflammation in the bladder? After removal, we usually recommend sending them off for analysis. Reggie's stones came back as being calcium oxalate stones, which are the most common type of bladder stone. Check out Reggie's X-ray - how many stones do you see? 🧐 Guesses in the comments below.

We love new patients! 🐾 🥰

Is your kitten ready for its first vet visit? 🗓️
It's important to schedule your kitten's initial vet check-up between 6-8 weeks of age. During this visit, your veterinarian will:
Perform a physical exam: Checking your kitten's overall health and development.
Administer core vaccinations: Protecting your kitten from common diseases like panleukopenia, calicivirus, and rhinotracheitis.

Why are vaccinations important? 💉
Vaccinations help build your kitten's immune system, safeguarding them from serious and potentially fatal diseases.
Schedule your kitten's appointment today by calling our office, sending a text, or scheduling through the app! 📅

🐾 Meet the Sarah Squad! 🐾 Have you ever called our veterinary clinic and spoken with Sarah, received a post-surgery text from Sarah, or had Sarah as your vet tech during a visit? If so, it could have been one (or more!) of our three wonderful Sarahs, all spelled the same!

🌟 Starting from the left is Sarah 1, one of our amazing vet techs that you will usually see in one of our rooms when coming in for an appointment. Sarah 2 is one of our administrative assistants, the friendly voice you hear when you call in to leave a message for one of the doctors. And Sarah 3 is another one of our fabulous vet techs. She splits her time between assisting in surgeries and caring for your pets during visits. 🌟💪

We know it can get a little confusing, but we love our Sarah trio! Imagine the fun when one of the doctors calls for "Sarah" and all three are around! 😄 ❤️🐶🐱

🐾 Case of the Week 🐾 Charlie's Crinkle Cut Conundrum! 🍟

Meet Charlie, a 15-year-old Shih Tzu with a nose for adventure—and mischief! This sweet pup found himself in a bit of a pickle after munching on something he shouldn't have. Poor Charlie came in for an X-ray after his owner caught him snacking on a toy! On reviewing the X-ray, Dr. Xu recognized a familiar sight 🍟 You sure can't blame Charlie for thinking it was the real deal!

Luckily, the fry hadn't made it too far, and Dr. Xu was able to get it out by inducing vomiting, thereby avoiding surgery! 🥳 Wishing Charlie a speedy recovery and many more happy, healthy days ahead! 💙🐶
