Have you ever seen a dog as happy as this during rehab therapy? Meet Don Capone, the most adorable and friendly American Bully! 🥰 This guy just wrapped up his last rehab appointment with Korey, our Canine Rehab Practitioner. Back in July, Don Capone underwent TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). TPLO is a surgical procedure performed on the knee to repair a torn ligament called the cranial cruciate ligament. This ligament is similar to the ACL in a human knee. 🦿 Since August, he has been coming in weekly for his rehab appointments, always working so hard, and always being such a good boy. How can you not smile watching him in the water treadmill? 🐶❤️

🐰🐾 Bunny Briefs 🐾🐰
We don't typically see a lot of bunnies here at CKVC, but we recently had this beautiful girl visit our clinic for care. 🐇 Nimeria is a 7-year-old bunny that was brought in for some concerning abrasions on her neck. Despite a thorough examination, Dr. Xu couldn't find any underlying health issues, and asked the owner if there was anything at home that could be causing her abrasions. 🤔
After going home and examining her enclosure, her owner found the culprit: Nimeria had chewed a small piece of her wire enclosure and had been rubbing against the jagged piece, which had been causing the abrasions. Dr. Xu prescribed antibiotics to prevent infection and meloxicam to manage any discomfort. 💊 Nimeria has been responding well to the treatment and is now thriving in her new, more comfortable enclosure. 🐇 🥰

Meet Kevin Bacon🥓, an adorable black Labrador Retriever who recently visited our clinic for his annual wellness check-up. Our assistant, Catherine, made a deal with him that if he was the bestest boy, he would receive a special cheesy 🧀 treat. Kevin eagerly agreed, promising not to let his owner know about this delicious reward. We don't want our secret of giving spray cheese to our most favorite patients to get out! 🤫🧀

Roady
✨ Case of the Week ✨ Roady's Road to Recovery 🐶
Meet Roady, a 1-year-old lab mix, who has already faced incredible challenges in his young life. In February of this year, this sweet boy was hit by a car on New Circle Road in Lexington. Someone that witnessed the accident stopped to pick him up, and although he was wearing a collar, his owners never came forward. 💔
Roady was severely injured, with two fractures in his front leg and one in his pelvis. A local rescue, Paws 4 the Cause, stepped in and placed him with a foster family while raising money for all the treatment they knew he would need. 🥹🫶 Dr. Fuller performed a femoral head and neck ostectomy (FHNO) on Roady in April, and he eventually needed a second surgery on his front leg in June.
Throughout his journey, Roady has been working closely with our Canine Rehab Practitioner Korey. ☺️ Not only has he needed extensive rehab, he has had to come back for many bandage changes, his regular puppy vaccines, and his neuter. As of this week, we are happy to report that Roady is officially a graduate 🎓 of Canine Rehab Therapy!! We are really going to miss seeing this sweet face every week (especially Korey). Our favorite part of Roady’s story is that the Good Samaritan that rescued him from his accident was not only able to foster him throughout his entire recovery, but she and her husband are now Roady's new fur-ever family. 🥰🐾😇 What a lucky dog! 🍀
