Calling all long-haired kitty lovers!

Meet Frankie & Vulpix!

Vulpix was originally pre-adopted, but it fell through. She’s a sweet, playful kitten, and is approximately 5-6 months old.

Frankie was surrendered by his previous owner after they fell on hard times. When Frankie arrived, his coat was in poor shape from flea infestations, but after some TLC, he’s bouncing back beautifully! He’s very talkative, and approximately 4 years old, ready to share his love with a new family.

🐾 A Big Turnaround for Del! 🐾

Del was sadly dumped from a car late one night, left feeling scared, confused, and heartbroken. He’s been struggling here at the shelter, down in the dumps and longing for some love and reassurance.

But today, something amazing happened! Two of our incredible volunteers took Del on a doggie day trip, and the transformation was unbelievable! 🌟

When Del returned, his tail was wagging, and there was hope back in his eyes. He came back full of life, reminding us all that sometimes, all it takes is a little kindness to spark a big change. 💖

We are beyond grateful to our volunteers for giving Del this opportunity, and we can't wait to see him continue to heal and thrive. Now, we're more hopeful than ever that Del will find the forever home he so deserves.

Our little Chromia, the queen of sweet and gentle vibes, has found her forever home today! With that one striking blue eye one brown eye and an irresistible personality, she’s officially stolen her adopter's hearts (and probably their spot on the couch).

It was honestly impossible to resist her calm demeanor—she’s basically the doggy version of a cozy blanket. We know she’ll bring lots of love, laughs, and maybe a few extra snacks to her new family.

Caitiona's foster family finally made it official today — they just couldn't resist her positive angelic energy any longer!

They knew from the moment they met her that she was the one, but they just needed a little 'ruff' confirmation.

🌟 URGENT: Foster Needed for Meadow! 🌟

We are heartbroken to share that Meadow’s foster had to unexpectedly go into the hospital. While she will be okay and is on the road to recovery, Meadow is back in need of a temporary home.

This sweet girl was the perfect house guest and we are so sad to see her back at the shelter. She’s a wonderful dog who is great with kids and other dogs (but unfortunately not cats). 🐾

Imagine if this was your view. Day in and day out people would come by and stand in front of your cage and stare at you. They would tell you to sshhh if you barked. Some would cry if you looked sad. Imagine people reading the info on your cage and just moving on. Imagine being on display like furniture in a storefront. Can you imagine?

Dogs that are in a shelter cage can feel scared and vulnerable. They often times are anxious and depressed. When looking for a forever family member please take all of this into consideration. Spend time with the dogs outside of their cages. Choose based on your time together...not on what you see through those bars. Shelter life is not real life. Cages can make the gentlest soul appear "crazy" or "aggressive" simply because he is scared.

When visiting a shelter or a pound please be aware of the broken hearts in those cages. Show them respect. If a particular dog acts up when you are in front of his cage please move on. He doesn't want to be on display and has nowhere to hide. Teach your children not to taunt the dogs by running or jumping around. This always leads to more chaos and stress for all.

Shelter dogs had families at one time just like you and I. Each of them has had their lives turned upside down through no fault of their own. Imagine being let down by humans over and over.
Put yourself in their place. Try to imagine.💔

🍪 The Kinder Krew at Georgetown Elementary has been busy spreading some paw-sitive vibes! These little bakers whipped up homemade doggie cookies (with extra love, of course!) and paired them with sweet notes for their furry friends. 🐶💌

Pupate!

Pupdate on our goofy girl, now called Lady May (Blossom)! Today marks 2 months of having her. She is a sweet and energetic girl. She has gained 10lbs (which was very needed) and loves her food! She is obsessed with her big (little) brother, and never leaves him alone. She is definitely stuck with us, and we love her so much!

Cash Has Found His Forever Home!

Hold onto your leashes—today’s adoption story is wild (pun intended)! A young man came in with his dog and an adoption application in hand, ready to meet Cash. We quickly grabbed Cash and made it happen. 🐾
And guess what? It was love at first sniff! Cash hit it off with both his new human and his furry sibling, and just like that—against all the odds (and let’s face it, it’s pretty hard to adopt a Coonhound), Cash is officially adopted! 🙌
Coonhounds are known for being a little stubborn, incredibly energetic, and always ready to follow a scent (sometimes straight into trouble). But not for his new person. He saw the amazing potential in Cash, and now he’s going to have the forever home he’s always deserved.
