Trapped in a makeshift cage, riding in the back of a pick up truck on one of the hottest days of the year. This little crew has been through some very tough times in their short life.
It would be easy to be heartbroken, mad and critical at this situation. And honestly, we were. But we quickly snapped out of it because this is what we do. We fix things and do the best we can for the animals and the people involved.
And you know what? Even though it wasn't pretty, the people that helped these kittens probably saved their lives.
And even more true? We wouldn't be able to help these kittens without your support. Right now it's kitten season and BCHS has over 80 cats in our program. We took these kittens in crossing our fingers we would be able to find fosters for them.
So here's your sign. 😉 Time to foster a couple of cute kittens!

Meet Camo!

Camo is putting on a brave face for the camera. He looks worried but still hopeful to us. And frankly, we can't blame him.

But we are going to stay hopeful too.

For Camo's sake.

Adoptions across all the shelters are down. Dogs are sitting in shelters longer and longer. And let's face it, dogs like Camo are not in high demand.
Camo would prefer to be an only dog although he never wants to start in trouble.
His wonky teeth are adorable in a Brown County kinda way. ;)
He is kind of chunky which makes him even more cuddly.
And he seems to adapted pretty well to having an old break in his foot that no one ever bothered to fix.

Camo is a survivor. We just prefer that he be thriving on someone's couch.

Camo is 5/6 yrs. old and 45 lbs. He's had all the "stuff done" and is ready to go home. Vaccinations. neutered, dewormed, on flea and heartworm preventative. His Ohio license is also included.
Best yet? His adoption fee is sponsored.

Sage is approx. 3- months old and weighs 20 lbs

Pupdate!

Sophie (black dog) is our senior girl that was recently surrenderd to the shelter.
Thanks to all of you, she quickly found a foster to adopt home.

Her fosters say she is doing great and loves playing with her fur-sibling!

Gecko is doing great!!! She has gained weight and loves to play in our pasture.

Despite the warnings, hundreds of dogs in the U.S. die every year after being left in a hot car. Someone you know may need to read this very important message. ⚠️🚙⚠️
SIX MINUTES is all it takes for a dog to overheat in a hot car.
Your dog could suffer serious injury or die in a matter of minutes if left alone in a car.
• The temperature inside a closed vehicle left in the sun can double within 12 minutes.
• At least 75% of the temperature increase in a closed vehicle occurs within 5 minutes of closing the vehicle, and at least 89% of the temperature increase occurs within 15 minutes of closing the vehicle.
• Temperatures exceeding 104˚ F can lead to death or serious injury for the occupants.
• Temperatures in a closed vehicle sitting in the hot sun can reach 160˚F and above. An animal will suffer immeasurably and may die before the temperature reaches 150˚F.
• Even when parked in the shade, the vehicle temperatures can exceed 104˚C.
• Leaving windows down more than 2 inches on an unattended vehicle will not prevent a car from reaching extreme temperatures.
• Even if the animal is revived, they can die due to severe internal organ damage.
Your dog trusts you to have their best interest at heart ALWAYS.
Please don’t risk their safety.
If you are not taking your dog inside your destination with you, PLEASE leave them at home where they are comfortable and safe.
