We accept animals from residents within Scott County who have a current form of ID. We offer these pets for adoption to the public. The shelter accepts dogs, cats, and other animals, by appointment only, from residents who have a current ID, within our city and county. Please submit an owner surrender form to scottky.rescuegroups.org. We offer animals for adoption to the general public. Adoption f

ees: Dogs/Puppies $110 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, heartworm test, f***l, flea treatment and microchip. Cats/Kittens $90 This includes spay/neuter, booster vaccine, rabies vaccine, combo test for feline leukemia and FIV, f***l, flea treatment and microchip. The shelter also partners with the Scott County Humane Society and multiple rescue organizations to find homes for animal in our care. We accept monetary donations as well as items we use on a daily basis. We do have a wish list posted in "photos" on our FB page or we will email you one upon request. Our email is [email protected].

May is a super sweet and playful! Her favorite game is tug-of-war! She has a lot of energy and would love a yard to run around in or be your next jogging or hiking partner! She's very treat motivated, which will help with any training she may still need! She already knows sit, paw, and lay down!

Goober is getting ready for the Holidays already! He's hoping that he'll have a home way before then, though! He's been here for over 2 months now and he'd sure love to trade his kennel for a couch! Since he's been here, he's charmed people with his goofy personality and even taught himself to be housebroken! He's a sweet dude with a big personality and lots of energy!
He’s a young dog, about 1 year old, already neutered and health checked and ready to go home! He is sweet, loves people, and likes to play. This 60 lb Mastiff mix could be your next hiking partner, best friend, jogging buddy, and family companion! Come and meet him!

Henry is a very sweet boy who loves cuddles! He's a bit nervous at first but warms up for scratches and hugs! He doesn't seem treat motivated but focuses well on a person and shows interest in squeaky toys! He already picked up Sit quickly, so the smarts are there! He's going to be an amazing best friend for someone!

Daisy is such a sweetheart! She loves to play and go on walks, but will be great to snuggle up with for movie nights! She's showing signs of being housebroken and knows some basic commands already (especially if you have a treat!)

Farlie has been pretty nervous here at the shelter with all the noise of other dogs barking. Today, we let her come up front and help with some office work. Her typing skills need a little work, but her people skills are great! Also, if you have a basket of toys, she can empty it in record time! I'm pretty sure I heard her play the "Happy Birthday" song with a squeaky toy. Farlie has many good qualities and she will be a fun addition to any home! Stop by and meet this sweet girl with the soulful eyes! Visiting hours are Mon-Fri, 10 to 4. (Nov 11, we'll be closed for Veteran's Day)

Cortado found his forever home with one of our own! Animal Care Tech Cindy wasn't looking for a new dog (as you can imagine, we can't take them all home!), but fell head over heels for this charming, sweet boy that she's named Otto! After spending the weekend at home with her other critters, he was a perfect gentleman and fit in as if he'd lived there forever! Now her last adoptee, Whiskey the Pitbull, has a friend who will play with her! They all hit the jackpot! 🥰 Congrats Otto!!! 🥳

Our girls are feeling much better today!💞 They've been eating well, they had a much needed bath and their nails trimmed. Plus, they've been getting lots of lovins! 🤗 These girls are so sweet! Their story will be on Lex18 later today!

Luke has been looking for his forever home since November! We have all fell in love with him! ❤️ He is 6 yrs old, loves to play fetch, in good health, active, obedient, housebroken, and gets along well with other dogs. But, he gets looked over all the time!
