We're Hiring!
Hiring is difficult because we're a tiny band and we depend on each other. We try to make our job look easy but we take our work seriously. We're doing our best to create a cat-centric environment filled with KINDNESS where adopters can fall in LOVE and guests can safely play with cats (or just watch them sleep). If you're prone to showing up late, calling out, ghosting folks or just want to play with cats, please don't apply because it's the cats that suffer. If you are empathetic, can leave drama at home, want to help cats find LOVE, believe in the good of the team, and can lift 30 pounds, please apply. We would love to have you help us save cats.

APPLICATION for part-time (15-25 hrs per week) Cat Concierge. Lynne Miller Hammel (1956-2024)
"A Mother's LOVE is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible." - Marion C Garretty

Lynne was a Mom, cat Mom and our friend. She visited Purr & Pour one day several years ago, liked our mission to save cats, and asked how she could help. She was battling cancer so in-person volunteering didn't work but her sewing talent was just what we needed. For years, she made handsewn, padded kitty beds that brightened our lives. Lynne's nurturing, motherly nature and her KINDNESS increased comfort for us, our adoptable cats and our guests.

If you've visited, you've probably seen one of her beautiful creations. If you've adopted from us, your kitty might still be enjoying her act of KINDNESS (we send beds or other items home with adoptions). If you worked with us, you probably enjoyed treats she brought us from local bakeries.

Lynne inspired us with her strength, humor and resiliency. We miss her and will honor her by increasing KINDNESS in our little corner of the 🌎. Her memory is a blessing. Patricia

🎉 Y'all know we LOVE every adoption and it's really special when a family adopts from us again! 💕 NALA chose her family and joined MEERA (adopted 7/22) and LULU. 😻 Everyone is doing GREAT and we're thrilled that two somewhat shy cats have blossomed when surrounded by LOVE. Here's her update:
"There was a little hissing and sorting out personalities, but we're all best friends now! NALA is a love. All 3 girls know how much they're loved. She fits right in."

- WHITNEY 🎉 You may recognize our little 16-month-old girl from her Whitney MEWston impression on the Reno circuit and as the lead in The Kittenguard alongside Kevin CATsner. WHITNEY is demure but precocious young lady who enjoys playing with other socialized & frisky younger kitties. WHITNEY is at the age where she is old enough for big 😺 naps, but still gets the adolescent zoomies and would do well in a 🏡 that has extra time for play & snuggles.
