Pet Gal Shelly has been with TPG for over 6 years, and her quick thinking and CPR knowledge saved a dehydrated dog this morning. Way to go, Shelly! We ❀ you!!

PET GAL SHELLY--A REAL HUMANE HERO!

We would like to share an experience from today with all of you. One of our clients reached out to let us know that Pet Gal Shelly saved a neighbor's dog from certain death! The neighbor forgot that she left her dog outside and went to run errands--in this heat, that can certainly be deadly! Our client and Shelly heard the dog's painful screams. He couldn't stand, and his head was flopping around. Pet Gal Shelly sprung into action and saved this dog's life! The client told us, That dog would have died without her. Bo and I would be hopeless without her! She is a true gem!

"I heard his yelping right when I got out of the car. I followed his cry and found him. I immediately climbed the fence to check if he had anything broken and picked him up to calm him down. I kept giving him water and he started to get better!"

When the neighbor arrived home, Shelly recommended that he take the dog to the vet for fluids. We recognized Shelly for her actions and issued her a $150 spot bonus. We want to remind our team and clients about the importance of acquiring and maintaining certification in Pet CPR and First Aid training. You may someday also need to step in to save a beloved pet!

When hearing the name “Rambo”, some may think of violence, vengeance, and retribution. But the only trait this lovely lady shares with the movie character is the ability to survive.

Meet Rambo, a sweet, loving 14-year-old German Shepherd who needs a comfortable home and medical support.

Rambo has faced a lot of obstacles in her life. An “outside dog,” she has never known the joy of living inside with a family. But you’d never know by her gentle nature. A fan of a good belly rub, this smart girl has a strong spirit and personifies resilience.

Rambo is currently suffering from health issues, so she must she live inside in a climate-controlled environment. She craves companionship, warmth, and security as she navigates her golden years.

Can you be Rambo’s hero by opening your heart and home, and giving her the love, care, and connection she so greatly deserves? Please rescue this lovable survivor and help make her final chapter her best.

Get to know a Pet Gal Pet Sitter!

Meet PG Wanda! Wanda started caring for our Austin clients in 2010. TPG founder, Susan Anderson, previously knew her from a corporate job in 2002, and she was super excited to work part-time for us. She's since retired from her Federal Sales job at Dell and not only cares for our Georgetown clients but also runs our sister company, Wedding Pet Attendant, LLC. She has 13 employees on her WPA staff in Texas and Colorado and does an amazing job with our weddings and event planning.

We hold Wanda in the highest regard, and we greatly appreciate her 11 years of service as a sergeant in the Army, the Texas National Guard, and most notably, Desert Storm.

She's also an inspiration for our team. During the shutdown, she and her husband (Pet Guy Brian) used that time to make positive and healthy changes. They both lost quite a bit of weight, and Wanda rediscovered her love of running. So much so that she signed up, trained, and completed the Austin Marathon in February! We're so proud!

She is all in on her passions, and naturally, that includes caring for pets. Our clients are equally impressed by her outstanding care and attention to detail.

In her own words:

I was born and raised in Berwick, PA. I moved to Texas in the late ’80s because I was stationed at Fort Hood while in the Army. I have always had a passion for animals, which I learned while growing up on a farm. My husband and I started rescuing dogs about 30 years ago. Some were in bad shape when we took them in, but they turned into exceptional family members with our loving guidance. We are very particular about our babies, so please know that I will take special care of your babies when they are in my care.
