A common summer danger is hot cars! It does not have to be that hot for a parked car to become fatal to dogs. An outdoor temp of 75 degrees can swell to 94 degrees inside a parked car in as little as 10 minutes! So this summer be careful and do not leave your pet in your car.

We are happy to announce that our August Pet of the Month is Scarlet Salinovich!! Ms.Scarlet is a wonderful pup we love to see in the clinic. Her owner says she has many funny habits. She loves to give hugs with her paws when you rub her chin. She also loves squeezing her rubber chicken. Her owner says she loves to squeeze it to death, especially when you are trying to talk to someone. She is also just a bossy little pup! She will walk right up to other dogs and bark at them and steal their toys! Congratulations Scarlet!

This month we bring awareness to microchipping. Microchipping your animal can help them find their way back to you if they are lost. The microchips that are implanted in your pet are as small as a grain of rice! Some would say they are small but mighty! It’s hip to be microchipped!

The 4th of July is just around the corner. Some pets require calming medications to keep their fear and anxiety levels at a minimum while their families and friends celebrate. If your pet is one of them now is the time to start thinking about requesting those prescriptions! Veterinarians and pharmacies will be extra busy the days leading up to the holiday so don’t be stuck waiting for yours! And remember, your pet MUST be current on their annual exam and a doctor will not prescribe a sedative medication without a current exam. So please call now to be sure your pet is current and you are prepared for
the holiday.

The time has come to start production on our hospital brochures. Although the brochures are not complete, we wanted to show off the chosen models. It was a very very hard choice that took a very very long time. There are so many wonderful pets in this community and it has been nearly impossible to narrow down the choices. We have compiled a collage of the chosen pets below. If your pet is pictured below they will be featured in one of our brochures to come later this year. We will also have a gift basket ready for you to pick up for your pet by Monday of next week. Thank you for participating and thank you to all that submitted wonderful photos. It was great to have so many awesome pets to choose from!! 🐾
