ATTENTION: Animal Shelter Schedule Update

Due to a Parvo outbreak at the shelter, the Stokes County Animal Shelter will be closed for the next ten days so that staff can clean and disinfect in order to prevent the spread of the disease. Animal Control officers will still be answering calls and responding per usual. During this time, the shelter will not be taking in animals or be open for adoptions. All regularly scheduled rabies clinics at the shelter will be postponed until the shelter reopens. The Shelter will reopen for normal hours and services starting on Tuesday, February 25th. If you have any questions or need more information, please call (336) 994-2788. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Dozer is the best boy! He's laid back and exactly what everyone wants in a Labrador type dog. He LOVES tennis balls and fetching them and he will sit politely for treats. He would make a wonderful family dog!
Dozer has spent a lifetime with infected and untreated ears, when he got here, he was miserable, but we have treated his ears here at the shelter and he feels so much better. He will require minimal maintenance for his ears.

This dashing fellow is Casanova. He is the sweetest little guy. Loves to just hang out with you. Seems to be the type who would happily go anywhere with you. We are searching for a rescue for him as he has heartworm disease. We would consider an adoptive home with the understanding that he needs veterinary treatment for this condition. He is so worth it!!

Oscar is a big ol' laid back sweetheart. If you're looking for a lounging partner who doesn't take life too seriously this is your guy. He loves people but is very hesitant of other cats. Don't tell him we told you, but he acts like he was on the losing end of a heated cat fight at some point in his life. He is literally a lover, not a fighter.
