Yesterday our sweet Ellie passed away. She was approaching 3 years old which is pretty old for a hamster. Their general lifespan is 2-ish years. No amount of time would have ever been enough with her. She was such a good hamster for us. For something so small, she touched so many hearts. Ellie was one of the 200+ hamsters I've rescued and so insanely special she became a permanent resident. I am deeply saddened that she will not be joining us at our new place... the first place of my own actually.

My sweet Ellie, we will always love you and remember you. ❤️

⭐️ Meet Phoebe! ⭐️

Female Syrian Hamster. Around 1.5 years old. Phoebe spent her life in a tiny cage until we got her. Previous owner would not feed her and when they did they fed her cat food. This girl now deserves nothing but the best and we will make sure she has a wonderful home!

She is FRIENDLY! You can pet her and hold her, zero issues. She will need atleast a 75 gallon tank. We will ask for proof of enclosure and ask adoption screening questions. If interested in adopting, please message us!

Located in Germantown, OH. Small rehoming fee. Delivery available for an extra charge.

We are down to 3 hamsters now. We had 7 cages/hamsters at a time but we suffered alot of losses and we decided to cut back on it all. 7 hamsters is alot of upkeep and it began to take its toll mentally, physically, and financially (we've even had 10+ at one time). Our remaining 3 are old and could go at anytime. It's devastating to say that. I hope they all surpass all odds and surprise us all but as hamster owners we all know they can go at anytime, at any age, for zero reason. 😭 Their short lifespans and how quickly/easily they can go is not easy. The trauma we've endured finding them dead unexpectedly for no reason has caused us to question ever owning hamsters again. I think after our 3 are gone, we will step back from owning (and unfortunately rescuing) for the forseeable future. This does not mean I don't love and adore hamsters. It does not mean this is goodbye for good. It's more of a "until next time" for when we've healed, grown, and are ready for more highs/lows of hamster ownership/rescuing. But regardless of this all, I will always be one to educate, advise, and help grow the hamster community/care standards. Also please keep sending us updates on hamsters you've adopted from us as it always makes our day. This is a hiatus for now but we will return when we're ready. We cannot thank everyone enough for all the love and support. It truly means so much to us!

Picture of our remaining crew, who we count each day with as a blessing ❤️

Rest in Peace to the best hamster anyone could ask for... our precious Jellybean died today. He was our first hamster and the hamster that started it all. He was the first hamster I ever tamed. He quickly grew my love for hamsters and led me into opening a hamster rescue. We are devastated without him. I wish he lived longer than he did, and I wish hamsters didn't have such a short lifespan in general. We will always love you and remember you Jellybean ❤️

Rest in Peace to the first hamster we ever rescued... Max. We rescued Max in December 2021 from horrible living conditions. He became the first hamster to a little boy and his family, who have now become like our own family (they have adopted several hamsters from us since!). Max's owner and family have given him such a wonderful life and home. He will be greatly missed. We are putting this post up to pay tribute to the first hamster we rescued and has since led to many more being rescued. ❤️

⭐️ Why You Should Adopt From Us ⭐️

• We promote proper hamster care. This includes making sure our rescues have the appropriate care and living conditions they need to thrive.

• We help educate and advise potential adopters on proper hamster care. This includes providing adopters with the necessary information and resources they need to make sure they have a happy and thriving hamster.

• Each potential adopter is thoroughly vetted with screening questions and mandatory pictures of their setup to ensure our rescues are not going back into similiar homes we previously had rescued them out of.

• We know where each of our rescues go. We keep a list of each new adopter along with which hamster they adopted and where to contact them. We also ask for updates to ensure our rescues are adapting well to their new homes and to check in. We care about our adopters and our rescues! We are here for you during and after the adoption process.

• None of our rescues come directly from backyard breeders or rodent mills. We do not rescue from these people for the simple fact more hamsters will just take their place and the cycle never ends.

• Most of our hamsters however do come from pet store rodent mills and in some cases local backyard breeders. We can assure you we do not pull and rescue these hamsters directly, lining the pockets of wrong unethical people. We rescue hamsters from private owners in neglectful situations where these people most likely got their hamster from some type of pet store chain in general.

• Because our rescues are not ethically bred and most hamsters in general are not ethically bred, we take the time to do a health evaluation on each hamster. While we are not licensed vets, we can sometimes spot potential health problems such as (but not limited to) wet tail, mites, skin conditions, eye conditions, tumors, and so on.

• Our rescues are handled daily. That means we start the taming process while they are with us unlike pet stores who do no taming whatsoever and usually have very frightened unsociable hamsters who in most cases bite with a purpose.

• Our rescues are fed the best possible food on the market ensuring a good healthy diet which we will gladly pass along where/what kind of food to get.

• Peace of mind knowing you are not deliberately supporting backyard breeders and pet store rodent mills.

• We do believe in ethically bred hamsters by the California Hamster Association and Ontario Hamster Club. Anyone not on that list is unfortunately a backyard breeder trying to con you.

• We can easily provide information on the hamster you look to adopt such as age, temperament, personality, how tame or untame they are, potential trauma, where they came from, how we acquired them, and what their favorite chew toys/hideouts/treats are.

• Even after you take your new furry friend home, we are here for you to answer any questions you may have along your hamster ownership journey and advice when needed.

• If for any reason you can no longer take care of your adopted hamster from us, we will gladly take them back and find them their new home. This ensures the safety of each of our rescues for the duration of their lives.

• We take in owner surrenders along with rescuing. Sometimes these hamsters come from great owners with proper care who can no longer care for them. Sometimes these surrenders are in poor living conditions.

• We assist other local rescues or anyone overwhelmed by rescuing by taking some of this work load off of them and bring hamsters into our care that way. We are here to help hamsters entirely, not just for our own gain.

• We take in accidental litters from owners completely overwhelmed and who do not have the adequate space to house an unexpected litter.

• Our mission is to promote proper hamster care and put more hamsters into knowledgeable good loving homes. We hope one day proper hamster care will be a well known thing and have expanded to most hamster owners.

We have some WONDERFUL news! We had a trusted friend who runs her own rescue transportation service offer to transport our hamsters for us! This means we can adopt out to the following states, with transportation directly to your house!

Transportation to the following states:
OH, PA, WV, VA, MD, IN, IL, MI, NY, NJ, CT, and periodically head all the way down to FL, so they may be able to do all states south to FL!

Our adoption fee is $20, and transportation is $10, so for the price of $30 you can rescue instead of shop and have your new furry friend directly to your door!

We have hamsters available for adoption already so please check our previous posts to see what cute fur baby you can be bringing home and welcoming into your family!

For all adoptions, we require proof of enclosure and adoption screening questions along with the $30 fee. For all local adoptions, the price will remain $20.

Thank you for all your help and support! Special thank you to our dear friend Mel for making this possible! ❤️

We have just this female left! She was born August 2022. Her personality is more on the timid and reserved side. She likes to poke her head out when you come in the room and is usually very active! She would do best with a patient owner who respects her space and spends time building a bond!

We require proof of enclosure and small rehoming fee. Located in Germantown, OH but can transport to Columbus and Akron area.

10/11/2022

While we are still rescuing, we have decreased the volume of hamsters we can take in. We have noticed a lower demand in hamsters due to the poor economy. Rescuing to the magnitude we once were doing along with inflation prices we were struggling to stay afloat. We have decreased due to the hardship on us financially but alas, we are still in business! We are a nonprofit, receive little to no donations, and rescuing hamsters comes solely out of our own pockets. The small rehoming fee we charge doesn't even cover a month of care for one hamster. Clearly, we do not do this for profit but to make a difference in the lives of these hamsters.

We are happy to take in owner surrenders but we do have a waiting list. Patience is a virtue with us. Please be kind to your local rescues. We are all struggling and trying during these hard times!

And most importantly, ADOPT DON'T SHOP. We have a list of reasons you should adopt from us below! Whether you adopt from us or not, we encourage your next furry friend be from a well reputable rescue. There are many backyard breeders around us but limiting their demand will limit their supply. Together we can all make a difference! ❤️
