A desperate situation and, yes, we do realize it's almost Christmas and Hannukkah. This is "Sadie" She is a 4-5 mth old, 15 lb baby and needs a place to go this weekend. The landlord says
"no pets" and the owner is desperate to not take her to the pound. We will take her into rescue if someone can foster, even to just get us through the holidays. Sadie is near Selmer TN but her owner will drive her where she needs to go.

Meet "Hank", a most stunningly handsome border collie boy. Hank came to us when he wandered up lost in Memphis. He was thin, hungry and had heartworms.
Now he has been successfully treated for those heartworms and has grown a healthy, shiny, red coat.
Hank is a true bc in every sense. He is very smart, loyal and attuned to his people. Like most bc's, he is shy around new people but, given a minute, he is a friendly guy. With other dogs, he loves to play and be chased (either by other dogs or by people). It's the well known bc game of "You chase me and then I'll chase you"
He gets along great with cats but he loves his person most of all and will try to claim number 1 dog spot if allowed.
Hank consistently sits on command, is a perfect gentleman on a leash, goes to "bed" when asked, and is learning not to jump. He is a snuggle bug and would really like to sit in your lap. He has been on limited activity due to heartworm treatment, but he is very focused on his foster and like all bc's, his greatest joy is pleasing his owner.
Because of his bc drive, he will need a home without young children. His ideal home would be border collie experienced and willing to give him the activity and love he deserves.
Hank is being fostered in Memphis. His adoption fee is $350 and, like all of our dogs, we will require a fenced yard for him.

Meet "Waylon" This very great aussie boy is about 2 yrs old and we rescued him from a middle TN shelter a few weeks ago. We've learned alot about him. His foster says this, "Waylon is super smart and knows many many commands. His foster says that he loves the neighbor's dogs, gives space to the cats and LOVES to play with toys and eat.
Because he is a young herding dog, we think he needs a home with older kids (if there are kids) and, although he really enjoys other dogs, he would do fine as an only dog and soak up all the attention. Also, he loves trips to meet everyone at Tractor Supply.
Waylon is vaccinated, neutered and on heartworm prevention. He is housebroken.
He is being fostered near Clarksville, TN and his adoption fee is $375. As with all of our dogs, we will require a fenced yard for him.

UPDATE: PAISLEY IS ADOPTED!!
This is the beautiful border collie/aussie mix girl we rescued when she was lost on the streets of Memphis. We didn't realize at first what a gem she is ... a wonderful girl!
Paisley is about 2 yrs old. Like most bc's. she is shy when first meeting new people but she warms up with a little love. She would be great in an active home with children and other dogs. She is curious about cats but respectful of their space. Paisley does love to chase birds and chipmunks and she LOVES playing in the water.
Her kennel is a lounging spot for her and, she will use it to hoard clothes, shoes and bones... hoping to create her own treasure box.
Paisley, like most bc's is super smart and eager to learn.
She is housebroken, up to date on vaccines, spayed and on heartworm prevention.
She is being fostered in the Memphis area. Her adoption fee is $375 and, as we always do, we will require a fenced yard.

Coming to us soon... "Poncho". This stunning boy is a 23 mth old, ABCA registered border collie from working lines. He has had some preliminary sheep herding training and is trained on several basic obedience commands.
He is coming to us because, although he lives on a working farm, his thing is really just to hang out with his people. He has no real interest in a herding career. He loves kids, other dogs and cats.
Poncho's ideal home would be with experienced border collies folks who would love to take him everywhere they go.

UPDATE: Both of these boys have found homes!
Both of these one year old male border collies are in a middle TN shelter. They are brothers and they are still just puppies. We know they don't look groomed, their coats aren't shiny and their surroundings aren't appealing but they need help.

Look at this! First picture is of "Hunx" at the Memphis Animal Shelter. Terrified!
Second picture is Hunx just three days later. He's been to the vet for an overall check up and now he's learning to love life with an incredible foster.
