Meet Numi. Numi is an Arabian Mau who was abandoned as a kitten. He is trying to learn the nuances of kitten play but desperately looking for a playmate. He is gorgeous! Numi has one gold and one blue eye and unique patches of spotted fur on his mostly white coat. Sweet? Yes, wonderfully sweet and loving.

You hear us say it all the time: "it takes a village." Indeed, it takes all of us working together to help animals in need because, sadly, there are more animals that need help than there are people to help them.

The next time you find an animal that needs help, TAKE INITIATIVE to help that animal yourself. Don't wait for the rescue or animal control officer to show up; you've got the same ability to make a difference in the life of that animal as any one of us at Stray Cat Project. Especially heading into winter, we need all hands on deck. Do what you can to help a cat in need to alleviate the pressure on local rescues.

We can make a better life for our community cats if we work together, regardless of the weather. Join us!🐾❤️

Meet Red. His one of the lucky ones saved from Houston Texas area. He is being transported to Virginia later this week and is available for adoption in the Germantown Maryland or Leesburg Virginia area. When we called to see about surrendering him to a local shelter in Humble Texas, they asked if we had him for 10 days because they can euthanize if you have satisfied the 10 day hold period for an animal. So, Red is on his way to us. Please see our website for more information about him. We tagged Snapus.org of Houston because they are working hard to help. The conditions in Texas, especially around Houston are dire. Dogs and cats are literally living on the streets, struggling and starving. A relative saved Red from being hit on a busy street. Later, he bought dog food to feed what appeared to be a nursing mom and the convenience store staff came out and threw away the food before she could finish it because they did not want her around. It is difficult to hear about much less witness. Rescues in Houston and the surrounding areas desperately need fosters and help to spay and neuter.

Senior Alert: Ivy (9) came to us from a facility where she was at risk. We took in four others at risk seniors recently. One needed a dental and was positive for Fiv. He is struggling to recover but we are hopeful. Ivy is currently in senior building. She is sad and just wants a home of her own. Ivy is affectionate and does not mind other companions. Spotlight: Introducing Franklin. Franklin is about two years old and has been with us for over a year. We're not sure why he keeps getting overlooked. He's an easy going big guy, that is looking for a home of his own. He is defiantly a favorite of our volunteers. He is currently in a foster home. Senior Alert: Hallie (12), is looking for a new home. We are always willing to take our kitties back no questions asked. Sometimes that means they come back to us as seniors through no fault of their own. Hallie has come back to us twice, once when her owner passed away and recently when her owner moved into assistant living.
