Who wants a treat?? 🍪 Kingsley is a senior pit bull who arrived in January after being abandoned by his owner. Starving, covered in fleas and mange, he has made a full recovery. He’s the sweetest boy! 🐶💙

Meet Riot! Greeting Dolly at the hospital, he is the donor for the blood transfusion that saved Dolly’s life. What a hero!!🏅We are so grateful to Riot and his person Jessica Dennis. 🙏 We love you Riot!! ❤️🐶❤️

Dolly is feeling better and was delighted to have her friends the Martino family join our sanctuary tour to visit her! They showered her with cuddles, treats, toys and a new blanket! What a lucky pup! We are so grateful to the Martino family for their love and support. 🐶❤️🐾

Dolly is home from the hospital! She is very weak and her breathing is still off. But she’s eating and drinking. What a good girl! 🐶❤️

Sharing again and asking you to, too. We want everyone whose horses were impacted by this awful disaster to know that we are here for them. We have had almost 50 emergency grant applications come in already (early days, considering that only a fraction of the victims of this storm have had power and cell service restored).

In addition to our grant programs, we are connecting hundreds of people who have hay or other supplies to offer with transporters who are getting those goods to our partner distribution center in Mill Spring, NC. We will soon have boots on the ground there who will load goods from the distribution center and make home deliveries to area horse owners, door to door, trying to be sure that every horse has food to eat.

Our rambunctious boy Wyatt had a training session with Jared Renzi thanks to his sponsor Tracey Rostron. Jared worked to teach Wyatt healthy boundaries around personal space, which is important for safety. Wyatt’s a quick learner and the session went so well! 🐎💚

Greetings from Trooper, Max and Moon! All three of these handsome seniors were saved from the slaughter pipeline now living their best lives at The Lily Pond. 🐎💚

Good morning from Moon! ☀️🐴🌙 A former lesson horse at a local college, he was injured and sent to auction where a kill buyer purchased him. Thankfully, a local woman witnessed it and bought him from the kill buyer. She rehabilitated him and now he has a forever home here at The Lily Pond! 🐎

Our beautiful #ottb mare Waverly and her bestie Dutch Treat coming over to wish you a happy Wednesday! Dutch is a Thoroughbred-Quarter horse cross and competed in events. Permanent Wave is a registered Thoroughbred who raced the tracks in 2012. 🐎💚🐎

We hosted a tour of the sanctuary yesterday. Thank you to all who came out to meet the animals and support our work! 🐱🐶🐴

Our thoroughbred mare Who Plays Brahms is home from the hospital! 🎉 She’s feeling so much better after being treated for a stomach full of bot flies that were causing her to colic. We have Brahms in a temporary medical paddock in order to monitor her closely. Her pasture mate Martys Expectations was so happy to see her friend again! 🐴💖

We hospitalized our new arrival “Who Plays Brahms”, a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse that we just saved from the kill pen. She colicked upon arrival - our vet has been out twice but was unable to stabilize her. She is at Rhinebeck Equine Clinic on oxygen and IV fluids. Please keep her in your prayers as we fight to save her life again. 🙏We would be so grateful for any donations towards her hospital bill. Our two rescued Thoroughbred ex-racehorses, Who Plays Brahms and Martys Expectation, have arrived! But our excitement turned to shock when we saw how thin they are. We knew they were in poor condition when we pulled them from the kill pen, but we were not prepared to see such severe malnutrition - the worst neglect case we’ve ever witnessed. Their rehabilitation is going to take time. We are committed to doing our best for them. Such sweet mares. They never deserved the abuse they’ve clearly survived. Please keep them in your prayers as we work to bring them back to health. 🙏🐴💚🐴

Today is the day!! Our two Thoroughbred ex-racehorses, Who Plays Brahms and Martys Expectation, are en route home to The Lily Pond! Saved from the Stroud Oklahoma Kill Pen, they have completed quarantine and are in the capable hands of our hauler, Steve Egner, who is transporting them 1,600 miles from Cleo Springs OK to our sanctuary in Ghent, NY. They will be arriving tomorrow afternoon. We are asking for prayers and good wishes for their safety throughout their freedom ride home. 🙏🐎💚🐎 #freedomride
