Stellar had a very successful event at Brazosport Hunt Test 12/7-8. Although the weather was not in our favor, rainy and cold 🥶, we enjoyed each others company. Thank you Brazosport for hosting this event, thank you to Sally Koepke and Michelle Love for your time in the judges chair. These two ladies did a great job setting up series to test our dogs in some very difficult conditions. Congratulations to all who received passing scores. Stellar’s Paul Brady passed his big boy Sam, Mike Woodbury passed Viktor and Jim, and Wayne Paterson passed Patience. Well done guys! Stellar passed Gunner owned by Paul Brady, Jolene owned by Mike and Janice Woodbury, Ranger owned by Chris and Lacey Hughes, and Wick owned by Joal Harper. Jack also passed his dogs Regi, Glory and True. Marta passed Shane and Cream. Our youngest member, James Wall, has a good start in hunt tests with his first two passes in Jr with his dog Glory. Looking forward to the 2025 Hunt Test season and the road to Master National.

Hey all, Tess here with the final page on Master National 2024. Though the rain tried to soak our spirits Flight C would not surrender our spirit of Joy and camaraderie. Although we were trailing the other flights, Charles Pugh was unruffled, or so it appeared. The whole Flight put their big pants on and did what needed to be done to finish strong on Tuesday, holding our awards ceremony Wednesday morning. Shawn Kimberly and Dan Heard were rightfully honored for their great work in organizing all of us and setting Olympic worthy records for setting up and tearing down each day. 👏👏👏 to them both! Stellar’s clients made us proud at their outstanding handling of their dogs, even if not all received plates, they all did great work. Special congratulations to Dede Paterson and her dogs Rose, who is now an MNH, and Sunny and Michael Woodbury on his passes with Jim and Viktor. Jack qualified Jolene, owned by Michael and Janice Woodbury, Jimmy, owned by Doug and Amber Bishop, and is now an MNH, and Gunnar owned by Paul and Connie Brady. Stellar’s own dogs to bring home plates included Regi, Glory, now an MNH4, True, and Cream. With that said, now the really hard work begins as Texas will host the 2025 Master National and the whole Stellar gang along with many others will be diligently working to make it a great event. Look forward to seeing all in the Lone Star State in October! Until then safe travels home and all the best, until then Tess your dedicated Rover Reporter bids you good night and God Bless.

Tess here, sorry about the delay but Helene came in Thurs evening and is still lingering. Handlers are running in and between showers. We had quite a time turning the dog trailer around at our house Friday night after several inches of rain fell Thursday and Friday, then it got worse Saturday. Now we are looking for a motel as we don’t think the yard at the house can take much more. Our flight is slowly moving toward the 4th series.

Tess here with an update at MN 2024. After completing our Second series Flight C’s super crew had everything picked up in record time. The Workers Party was scheduled for Thursday evening but feeding and airing the trailer were top priority, which made me happy! As the first set of dogs were coming off the trailer for airing the rain started. We all were very wet when we got back on the trailer but at least our tummies were full. The humans then left for the party. I was told they didn’t have to wait in line as most of the people had already eaten and the prizes were starting to be given away. The group won bags of dog food and another bottle of Bourbon, then Annette Pacheco and her husband Bob made James night by giving him a Boom gun! Thank you Annette and Bob for your kindness. The humans seemed to have had a very nice time. MN is on hold Friday due to Hurricane Helene blasting Florida and Georgia headed our way with rain and high winds💨⛈️. Hopefully all will stay safe and fairly dry. Tess out until later today🐾🐾🐾

Greetings from beautiful Paducah. Sorry fans but somehow we have a house without WiFi so reports are difficult. Tess here with two days of reporting. Meetings yesterday were concise and informative, the Youth handler of the year received his award and then tasty treats were served. Monday morning brought threats of rain but only a few sprinkles appeared and the test went on. The pheasant flyers proved to be challenging and flight C still has a way to go to finish the first series. No worries, Charles Pugh and Mike Woodbury have all under control. Our heart felt sympathy goes out to Joal and Erin Harper on the death of his Mother in Law. Your friends will be there for the both of you because that’s how hunt test folk are❤️. Tess signing out until tomorrow.🐾🐾🐾

Good evening, Tess the Rover Reporter with a late report. Our group had another great set up and things went well, although we ran out of live pheasants for the last four dogs (they are not always easy to predict their flight paths) Several of our group left beautiful Pulaski Tn to begin the trek to Paducah Ky. About 35 mins down the road Master Jack who always is checking the trailer noticed debris from under the truck. Checking the passenger mirror he saw smoke and more tire debris. Oh well, some much for getting through Nashville before rush hour on Friday. 😢 But what the Devil means for evil the Lord turns into good! Thanks to Garmin we found the least congested route (and the most direct) we may have gotten here a little late but none worse for the wear. Thank you Tyler and Paige for helping and the nice tow truck driver who wasn’t afraid to help in 90+ degree heat. Yawn…, sorry it’s been a long day. Until tomorrow my dear friends, fellow canines and all God’s creatures. Tess saying good night and sweet dreams🐾🐾🐾

Good Thursday evening, Tess your Rover Reporter keeping you up to date on the road to Master National 2024. It was quite a warm afternoon but the down the shore water blind with a poison bird Pheasant was even hotter! The grass was very tall and stripped so the guys had to really watch their mark. Tomorrow a breaking drill and then the group moves on to Paducah. Hope everyone’s pre-training has gone well and we look forward to seeing all very soon. Sleep well and travel safely, Tess out for tonight. 🐾🐾🐾

Tess here, back at work following pre-training in Pulaski Tn. Another great set up using the factors to refine the dogs marking skills and comfort with difficult terrain. The dogs are adjusting well to Pheasants but the terrain is still causing issues with some of my buddies. Tomorrow is a water day, and all of us love water. Hope I get to have some swim time. Until tomorrow, Tess wishing all a restful night and good training tomorrow. 🐾🐾🐾

Greetings to all. It’s that time of year again when Tess, your Rover Reporter, once again brings you all the info starting with Pre training week thru the events of Master National 2024. The Stellar group assembled in beautiful Pulaski Tn at Bruce Moore’s Walnut Grove Farm. Although the remnants of Francine tried to dampen everyone’s spirit, the training today was quite crisp with dogs adapting to the terrain and Pheasant flyers. (Rather damp pheasants). Stellar’s good friend Kevin McGinnis provided a very tasty meal for our first evening. Thank you Kevin for your generosity. Thank you Bruce for your hospitality and allowing us to train on your amazing property. Well, that’s all for now. Tomorrow will be another glorious day with more to tell. Blessing for safe travel to all MNRC pretisipants, happy training and see you soon in Paducah🐾🐾🐾 Tess signing off for now.

I’m dusting off the ole I pad and sharpening my pencil. It’s been months since my last post as Stellar has been recovering from major surgery. This past weekend we were back at it with a Hunt Test in Madison Wi at the Madison Retriever Club. A big thank you and well done to the club for a very well run Master A flight. Duwayne Bickle, Deb Krebsbach, Rusty Chesmore and all the rest did an incredible job. Thank you Dan Tyner and Wade James for your time in the judges chair. Well placed marks that challenged our dogs just before Master National allowing time to work on problems we found. The weather and the camaraderie could not have been better. Stellar was blessed to receive qualifying scores with Shot owned by Scott Baker, Gunner and Sam owned by Paul and Connie Brady, Jimmy owned by Doug and Amber Bishop, Wick owned by Joal and Erin Harper, Viktor and Jim owned by Mike and Janice Woodbury and Rowdy leased by Paul Brady. Stellar was able to qualify their own Regi, Cream, and Glory. Enjoyed getting back to work and making new friends.

Jack and I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Adam Bally and Bally’s Gun Dog team for the outstanding job they did to qualify all of our young dogs for Master National. He had the task of running 3 litter mates he took over training in May and Titled July 20th at 24 months old. While he also titled two more of our dogs at 2.5 yrs. Thank you Adam for taking all of our Master National prospects and advancing their training. You were there when we needed you and we are very thankful.

Thank you Lost Pines for your Mid Week Master test. Your grounds are extraordinary and for a change the weather cooperated. Thank you Carol Hynes and Kevin Buchman for taking 3 days out of your schedules to sit in the judges chair. Congratulations to all qualifiers and Stellar was proud to have qualified Crockett owned by Jeff and Karin Parker, Jolene owned by Michael and Janice Woodbury, and Shane, Cream, and Regi owned by Jack and Marta Morris. Congratulations to Karin Parker who qualified Creedmoor. It was a good start to Hunt Test Spring 24. Look forward to seeing all in the weeks to come🐾🐾🐾
