Do not know how I got so far behind with posting IEA updates! This season was a whirlwind, we traveled all over going to 9 shows this season; including hosting our first ever show! So thankful for Allie and staff at Stables At Frederica for holding my hand through my first hosting show. We finished our regular season at Stables At Frederica this past weekend. So many ribbons and achievements, I can’t begin to list.
Huge congratulations to Annie Bailey for qualifying for regionals for Junior Varsity Novice Over Fences!!
And congrats to every rider for a great season and thank you riders and parents for every thing you’ve done for me and for making this such a fun season!

Peachy Update:
She took a trip down to Performance Equine this morning to see a specialist about her eye. The bad news is she already lost all of her vision in her right eye.
The good news: She has adapted well and does not show any signs of discomfort. The vet doesn’t think it’s bilateral, meaning her other eye should stay unaffected. As of right now, the eye does not have any shrinkage so there is no need for removal.

The next course of action is for her to receive an injection in her eye to prevent any future flare ups. If she does not get any flare ups then the eye will not recieve further damage and she will not have to get her eye removed!

Thank you for everyone that donated before! Her injection is estimated at $600 so I will be accepting donations/raising money for her next appointment

Such a sweet moment to remind myself what I’m sacrificing my weekends for. Guliford went to go play in the advance divisions at Long Creek’s IEA show this past weekend. IEA shows are already hectic enough without having a horse to take care of. Riders are constantly mounting horses, unmounting horses, riding for 2 minutes max in the ring; it’s easy to forget that these are living creatures we are dealing with, doing a job they didn’t volunteer for with no complaints.
In a flurry of switching classes, I was helping a student mount up and trying to find Guliford to make sure he wasn’t wandering loose without a handler. I finally found him in a corner surrounded by girls from another team. They were each taking turns hugging him and giving him praises.
I let them know how cute they were being and I appreciate them being so nice to Gully. They said that two of them had already ridden him that morning and had won their class and another one of them teammates drew him for the flat so they were so excited for her.
It was so nice to see such team comradery not only amongst these teammates but them treating another teams horse with such respect. I’m glad Guliford was able to award many riders with blue ribbons and great memories this weekend!

Busy busy at GTE! We had our IEA season opener at Evermore Farms last month! Ribbons all around!

Annie Bailey 2nd and 3rd in fences and 3rd and 3rd in flat in Upper Novice division

Charlotte MacDonald 4th and 5th in fences and 6th and 4th in flat in Upper Open division

Sabrina 5th in fences in Futures Novice division

Paisley 5th in futures walk trot

And Lila made her IEA debut that weekend!

Hi everyone!
Our friend Peaches is in need of some help. For those who don’t know, Peaches was diagnosed a year and a half ago with uveitis. It has been managed with the help of my vet and medicine; until last month when she developed a synechia. She needs to see an equine optometrist to fully evaluate the eye and hopefully save it.

Congrats to Taylor Wimpey on making it all the way to Zones! That was the end of our IEA season but I’m so proud of all the girls and their accomplishments this season. Counting down the days until IEA starts back up!

The IEA post season is still underway! We had 4 riders compete at Regionals, all earning ribbons in the Top 4. With Taylor Wimpey winning 1st in her over fences classes and moving on to Zones in March!

Congrats to all the girls that competed at regionals and well done to everyone for their regular season accomplishments!

We interrupt GTE’s IEA posts with a regular horse show post 🤪
Hashtag Swag helped both riders conquer their first PSJ Just For Fun show.
Anna Grace Wilson made her showing debut in the huge walk trot division walking away with a 6th place in the pleasure.
Meredith Koyle competed in her first walk/trot/canter show coming home with a 4th in the u/s and Eq and first in the pleasure.
Going back to our regularly scheduled IEA shows next weekend 😉

A cold weekend but we survived! Lots of ribbons all around! Caroline Peyton qualified for regionals this weekend and the middle school team won CHAMPION on Sunday!!!

Great weekend at Topsail! Middle school team took home reserve champion with all three point riders getting 1st in their classes!

Anika Spaeth qualified for regionals this weekend but we are only halfway through the season and have 3 other riders super close to qualifiying as well!
