The cottonwoods are turning golden at the farm. Autumn is coming to an end and soon the cottonwoods and pecan trees will be bare for the winter. The olives and citrus stay green throughout all the seasons and are always photo ready 📷

This is so hard for me to put into words, but my sweet mama left us on Monday after a lengthy illness. She was the best mom ever and the “bestest Meme”. She was a prayer warrior and a daughter of God. She was well loved and I am broken hearted. Please remember through this Thanksgiving holiday that our family, those that love us unconditionally, are only here for a short time and these family get- togethers can be the most treasured days of your lives.

It’s olive season! The trees are full of olives changing colors. As olives ripen, they change from green to yellow-green, rose, red-brown, and finally to dark red and purplish black. They can be harvested at all of these stages, but their ideal picking time is when 1/3 of the olives are purple and 2/3 are still green. If anyone is interested in picking raw olives, reach out to me. Olives do need to be brined or cured before eating.

Gila the farm dog wishes everyone a Happy First Saturday of October!!!! She’s as excited,as are most of our clients, that maybe, just maybe, the weather will start to cool off this month! This will mean long walks for Gila and much more comfortable conditions for our photographers and their families. Cheers to October 🍂
