Kitty City is a program at Wildhorse Ranch Rescue where rescued cats live in peace & harmony, safely away from dangerous environmental situations or potential harm from humans. With the help of Christi Benigni, we trapped & spayed/neutered all of the cats at Kitty City. Christi went on to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine & has helped the animal community for the past 13 years. Over the years

, we have taken in cats for other cat organizations when the cats were in danger due to environment or potential harm from humans. Because we completely operate on donations, we need your help to continue to provide a safe place for kitty cats in need. We now have a new cat atrium called Kitty Kastle in honor of MaryAnne Majestic and Lisa Burke.

From Celeste, our KC Manager:
It is Thursday morning in Kitty City and time to change out beds, if needed. The clean beds have been brought in from the Storage Room. Runi asked if he could take on the duty of making sure the beds don't fall and to make sure no kitty jumps on top of the pile and spreads the blankets on the floor. As you can see, Runi takes his job seriously. He checks the floor for possible jumpers and uses his tail to steady the pile. Job well done Runi!

Our rescue is in the Phoenix, AZ area. It's super important to keep our rescued animals cool during the extreme summer heat. We have two air-conditioned cottages for our kitties. To keep all the animals healthy and to avoid heat related medical issues for our cats, horses, baby horses, and our rescue dog, our monthly electric bill is over $1,100 during the summer. We are looking into Solar! Installing Solar for our ranch with two barns, a dog cottage, kitty city, and another cat rescue at our property is an expensive endeavor. Gotta keep the babies cool and healthy. 😎😻😺

Boots – Boots birth year is 2013 and this is an easy-going boy goes with the flow of Kitty City. He gets along well with others and quietly navigates through his days finding a variety of places to take all of his many naps throughout the day. He will seek out your affection as he gets to know you, but a can of wet food will help expediate this process. Boots has a white spot on the end of his tail that makes him stick out and he hopes he can have the opportunity to stick out in your home someday. . 😸A note about Zeus from our KC Mgr, Celeste Johnson.
"Zeus loves his morning and evening naps. In our Toe Beans Bunkhouse, we have provided him a number of options with the help of our Kuranda towers. He puts a smile on the face of our volunteers when they discover his choice. Zeus has the distinction of being not only adorable and loveable, but, he also has the largest body of the Kitty City population. It is amazing that he can use the highest point on our towers. He is a very special boy."

Miss Boo is a tiny lady with the cutest face. We don’t have much of a history on this gal and we believe her birth year is 2011 (give or take a couple years). She is a sweet little girl that seeks out the sunshine to begin and end her days. She can be particular, but she will allow you to give her all of the head rubbings in the world once you earn her trust. Her cute little face has some wondering if she belongs to the family tree of grumpy cat but her joy for life tells a different story. Hi Kitty Lovers!
As you know, we take excellent care of the kitties we rescue. That is why they live to be in their late teens and beyond! Being a Senior Kitty includes a lot of care along with a dental. A dental for an older kitty runs about $1200. That requires a lot of donations. If we can find 50 Kitty Lovers to donate $24, we can cover one Senior Kitty's Dental procedure. Here is a handy link. Sir Gray Dog is a dog we rescued on 10/30/2023. He was emaciated, could barely walk & was dragging his legs. He had sarcoptic mange, and distemper. We were not sure he was going to survive. Here he is loving life and enjoying an Easter Egg Hunt with a Bunny Gift. Oh, and he loves his walks to see his Kitty Friends at the ranch. He is such a happy dog! wildhorse.org

😺Runi Kitty is safe. ❤️Runi was found at a place in Arizona where often Winter Visitors or vacationers stay. Two wonderful & kind people were giving Runi food & water. They reached out to us for help. Runi has a chip and is registered to a place in Hawaii. We have taken Runi in and have left messages at all the phone numbers listed for the chip. We are hoping to hear back. Runi will see our Veternarian on Tuesday, 3/26/2024 to be sure Runi is healthy. Please consider making a donation of $5 or more to help with the veterinary bill and to help us continue to save animals just like Runi and hopefully reunite them with their owners. ⭐️What did you do on New Year's Eve?⭐️ At Wildhorse, every year our incredible volunteers are at the ranch to ensure the safety of our animals. Fireworks can have tragic effects on animals. We are so thankful to report that we survived another NYE of fireworks. Huge thanks to Doc, Marlene, Dean, Ann, Anu, and Carmen.
