Cabinet Fans,

This weekend we lost the final member of our backyard (feral) clan. Ms Cloud.

Ms. Cloud appeared in our backyard, a short time after Scruffy gave birth to Puff and Oreo (which we adopted into our home). From that moment on, she remained in our yard for about 16 years! As is our rule, Cloud was TNR’d and returned to our yard. While Scruffy was alive; she understood her place and allowed Scruffy to eat first, or face her wrath. Years later; Scruffy would pass and Cloud assumed her role as Queen of the yard. Although dainty, Cloud ruled the yard with an iron paw, and let no other feral touch the food dishes before she was done eating.

Over the years, she mellowed a bit. Less hissing and a few purrs now and again. In her final year, she kept us on a tight food schedule. If breakfast or dinner was late..we’d hear about it. Repeated meows turned to throated purrs, as we put the food in her dish.
By now, her beautiful mane of hair had become matted and her frame thin and frail. We feared she would never endure another dreaded Arizona summer, so we built a small indoor Catbitat for her. We added steps from the outside and a small cat door, so she could come inside for some cool AC (while she ate and drank). Outside, she had misters cooling her on the patio.

Although she rarely stayed longer than it took to devour her meal; we were delighted to hear her purrs between bites. During these times, Kelly skillfully snipped off pieces of her matted fur. I was always amazed when Kel held up a fist of matted fur in triumph. Although we could both give her a few light rubs, Kelly was the only one Cloud allowed to groom her.

This past weekend, we noticed her starting to stumble a bit. In the morning, she had a little food, took a sip of water, and passed at the food dish she loved so much.

At 16 years old, Ms. Cloud outlived all of our other Ferals in the clan, and all but one of our inside kitties. Although sad, we know we gave her a pampered, long life for any cat, let alone a Feral one.

Our backyard is now empty. Outside breakfast and dinner are silent. The many heated beds lay empty. Only a few guests Ferals, like Mr. Peppers (who stays for a few days then leaves for weeks) come by.

Rest now, Ms Cloud. Thank you for so many years of love and laughs. See you on the Bridge.....and yes, I will have your favorite yum yums....Always.

We've go a great spare Awning for those who need some shade, but also have Tunnels attached to the "hot" side.

This Awning (46" x 64") is perfect or those situations, and can be rolled up on once side or the other...or both!

Hey Catbitat fans and Wannabe Catbitat owners!! It rarely happens (maybe once a year)....but we have some USED Catbitats for sale!!
Our long-time Catbitat client has moved out of the country, and we have the remaining enclosures!

We have three (3) enclosures for sale:

Two (2) 46” x 46” x 60” four-sided enclosures, with Cedar Flooring, Cedar Shelves and soft artificial Turf (over the cedar flooring – removable). Cut-out holes (patchable). ($ 1,400ea when they were new)
$ 650 OBO each

One (1) 24” x 96” x 46” four-sided enclosure, with AWNING, soft artificial Turf Flooring (over mesh flooring) and Cedar Shelves. One cut-out hole (patchable). ($ 1,600 when it was new)
$ 750 OBO

All of these enclosures are ready to use now...but you can update them with our new Cedar Shelves, Hardware and Flooring (we can send you a quote), or you can by local wood of your choice! A little spray paint will have these enclosures looking brand new!!

These enclosures are perfect for patios or people who rent. They are also a great starter enclosure for you to add our tunnels or bridges to!
