Watching this makes me cry. Sara, Snippet and I get the honor of seeing this almost every weekend from September to May. It is truly an honor and it fills me with great joy!

Back in the saddle again! The long hot summer is over and I made the two year mark with my ankle replacement so the boys are getting in shape. Feels so good to fly with Ringo again! Sara even had both of them doing small jumps Sunday. It’s so good to watch the grace and beauty of horses in motion.

Here’s what it’s like for Snippet to unload from the ‘mini’cargo van. Many times we are in very small parking lots so a large truck and trailer just doesn’t work! His little van also gets better gas mileage, lol!

Coming home! Snip gets paid in treats back at the van when our visit is done and then we head home! He doesn’t walk as fast leaving as he does going in. He gets excited to see people but he’s always glad to get back to home sweet stall!

Yesterday Snippet visited with his new friends at Brookdale Senior Living Community! Wow did they love him! Some of them were trying to talk him into moving in so they could love on him. What a very special day!! One tried to entice him with promises of ice cream.

We met a lady who was 103 and sharp as a tack. Several told stories about past years and their time with horses. They were so welcoming and kind to us. Most times people ask questions about Snip but yesterday they had lots of questions about Sara and our family. Fun day!

When we get to where we are visiting, Snippet has to get dressed. His vest and the very essential poo bag made by our friend, Jennifer Koselke, are first on. Then he has to wear something on his feet for traction on slick floors and cleanliness. Snip does not like his boots so Sara wraps his feet in colorful vet wrap. Most people comment on how bright his feet are!

We had a little friend drop by for a visit. I walked her home, she showed the way back to her home.

Equine therapy can have a significant positive impact on mental health by helping improve emotional regulation, build trust, enhance self-esteem, reduce anxiety and depression, and develop communication skills.

It’s particularly beneficial for those dealing with trauma,PTSD, or other challenges because horses are highly sensitive to human emotions and can reflect behaviors back to the individual, fostering self-awareness and providing a unique therapeutic environment.

Well that’s a mouthful! But over the last two years, we have witnessed the positive impacts our equine partners have had on others. It just gives me goosebumps to watch!

On this Giving Tuesday, please consider including Thee Lazy Acre in your gifts. Every dollar helps and goes directly to the support and transportation of our equines.

Our equine boys thank you for any assistance you can provide in promoting their work in our community!

Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and we are asking you to give a few dollars to help us extend our outreach. Our mission is to help others through interaction with our equine partners like our mini horse Snippet. Snippet goes out on visits to seniors, reads with kids at libraries, assists at charitable events like kids cancer walks. In addition we work on site with children and adults who are on the spectrum, have ADHD or just need some emotional support. It is incredible to watch the interaction of people in need with our horse partners! The joy, the love, a true sense of peace for them.

Please remember Thee Lazy Acre on this wonderful day of giving. We thank you for your thoughts, your support in extending our mission!
