Top Dog Halloween Safety Tips: Keep Your Dog Safe & Happy This Spooky Season 🎃🐶
Tip 1: Create a Calm Space
Halloween can be fun, but it can also be a bit overwhelming for our dogs! Set up a crate or quiet room to help them feel secure when trick-or-treaters come by.
Tip 2: Leash Up & Avoid Hazards
Leash your dog around strangers in costumes and keep decorations, balloons, and candles out of reach.
Tip 3: Candy Safety
Keep all candy—especially chocolate and treats with xylitol—out of reach! Watch for signs of trouble like lethargy, vomiting, or loss of appetite, and consult a vet if they eat something dangerous.
Tip 4: Manage Doorbell Anxiety
If your dog reacts to the doorbell, practice desensitizing them before Halloween. Reward calm behavior with treats or try a white noise machine to muffle sounds.
Tip 5: Fireworks & Loud Noises
Fireworks can frighten dogs—keep them indoors, try calming music, or use a ThunderShirt.
