It’s a beautifully divine experience when things come full circle. The barn was refreshed with a stellar paint job by one of our volunteers Joel!
Joel started with us as a volunteer a couple years ago. He was here when we first brought Cochise to the barn & he got to ride him while he was finishing up with the barn. Joel is now successful in his professional painting business as well as working with those in recovery.
You can build your life & build the lives & communities around you ❤️

Jim came to us in October & has been a truly wonderful helping hand at the barn! From fixing leaks, to painting, to mucking stalls, to digging holes. He came willing to do anything & everything & was here each week reliably.
He’s off to move forward with his life & we will truly miss him here.
The sadness felt saying goodbye is the connection built over the last few months.
Jim we wish you the best in what your future holds & remind you that you always have family in Arizona!

Progress is personal. Sometimes it can take a long time & then all of the sudden it’s there. Maybe the progress was happening all along under the surface. Sometimes the student & the teacher learn together. Sometimes the horse & the rider are learning together.
Keep going & really listen…
Mark & Little have come together & made a connection that has resulted in riding independently for Mark.
Wrangler & Rooster got the ball rolling & we found ourselves here today. Truly amazing to see their progress ❤️🤠

Showing up & considering what the horse needs & what you need is important when building relationships with them. Many times we see individuals projecting their needs onto their horses.
For example that horse seems lonely when in fact it’s a very independent horse. The person usually is needing connection & feels the horse is rejecting them & creates a story that feels better to them.
This isn’t something that only happens with horses & humans. Notice this month how you might be projecting your needs onto your kids, clients, dogs, etc.
