Breve is an off the track thoroughbred who previously was a broodmare. She is always relaxing with her droopy lip in the crossties. Don’t let her chill vibe fool you, once she’s in the show ring, she is game for anything! 💫

Meet our schooling pony, Tempest ✨
Tempest has been with Nadir Riding Academy for 4 years. Her show name is “Tempest in a Teapot”. She was previously owned by one of Paris’ students and competed in 4-H including everything from jumping to gymkhana. Tempest loved jumping the most. She has taught many of our students the basics of riding all the way up to jumping a course. Tempest is our favorite sassy schooling pony! ✨

Meet Ron Black, a transplant to Arizona from Missouri. He attended Mountain View High School where he played tennis and graduated in the top ten percent of his class. He also attended Arizona State University. By trade, Ron is an electrical and general contractor, however his love and passion has always been for horses. His daughters, Payson and Phoenix, began riding at the age of four. This is when he met trainer, and now business partner, Paris Nadir with Nadir Riding Academy.

Whether it is researching the right stallion for a mare, or new tack for a horse, or providing advice on feeding schedules, Ron loves to help riders become successful in this sport. He’s always said there is something special about the partnership and bond between a rider and horse. One of the greatest joys in his life has been to watch his daughters excel in this sport.

You will find Ron happiest in the stall assisting with the birth of one of his homebred horses, out in the show ring tightening someone’s girth, getting a drink for a rider, or in the barn sweeping up for the next day. Ron and his wife, Nikki, along with their daughters, Page and Parker, live in Mesa, AZ.

Extra, Extra: We’ve got some exciting news to share! Although Nadir Riding Academy has been our barn for the past twenty plus years, we’ve begun a new chapter together! These four ladies, under the guidance of Paris Nadir, will be training our young horses and bringing them up the ranks!

We could not be more honored to take this next step with this great group of riders. The future looks bright for this team! Cheers to us and our new partnership!
