Due to our ongoing efforts to maintain the highest quality of services we provide and to ensure the sustainability of our operations, upcoming fee adjustments will go into effect on January 1, 2025. As part of our new fee structure, we are building a public spay/neuter program for our community using a percentage of the licensing funds.
Another positive incentive that is included within these changes is our "First 24 on the Floor" program. We will waive fees for first time impound, daily care, and vaccinations (excluding veterinary fees & licensing fees if not current) if the animal is reclaimed within 24 hours of arriving at the shelter. Waived fee recipients will be required to microchip their animal before release, if not already microchipped. For more information on our updated fee schedule, please visit https://www.washoecounty.gov/animal/information/fees.php. We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we make these necessary adjustments. As always, we will continue to provide exceptional service to our community.
