Do you need help managing your community cat population? 🐱

What is a community cat you might ask? Community cats are unowned cats who live outdoors. Community cats, also called feral cats, are generally not socialized—or friendly—to people.

According to the ASPCA, using euthanasia as a means to manage community cat populations is an outdated and ineffective method.
Trap-Neuter-Return has been shown to be the most humane and effective way of stabalizing feral/community cat populations. 🐱

The Community Vet Clinic is here to help you manage your community cat populations. We offer low-cost spay/neuter surgeries Monday-Thursday. 🐾

For more information about community cat populations visit: https://www.aspca.org/helping-people-pets/shelter-intake-and-surrender/closer-look-community-cats

The fall season is right around the corner!
Below are some tips to keep your pet happy and healthy during the autumn season 🐾

1. Be cautious of rodenticides and cold weather poisons: The use of rodenticides becomes more commen as rodents seek shelter from the colder temperature. 🐁
2. Steer clear of mushrooms: Fall and Spring are mushroom season. While 99% are non-toxic, the other 1% can be life-threatening. 🤢
3. Keep school supplies out of paws reach: Fall is back-to-school time. Which means kids have a lot of school supplies lying around the house. Many of these item are considered low-toxic but can cause gastrointestinal upset or intestinal blockages. 🖍
4. Watch out for wildlife: Autumn is the season when snakes are preparing for hibernation, increasing the possibility of bites to those unlucky pets who find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time. 🐍

You and your pet can now safely enjoy all the wonders fall has to offer! 🍂

Hip, Hip, Hooray for Oakley! ⭐

Oakley came into the Community Vet Clinic to get all her vaccines and heartworm prevention up-to-date. 🐶

The Community Vet Clinic recommeds that your adult pet be vaccinated with distemper/parvo and bordetella yearly. In Campbell County, your pet is required to be vaccinated with rabies every two years.

From the month of May to October your pet should be on a monthly heartworm preventative.

You can walk into the Community Vet Clinic anytime between 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday. We are closed from 11:30-12:30 for lunch.
