New beginnings for our friend and boarder of 17 years along with Tater and Tot who are off to their new place near Carrollton. We will miss them and wish them much happiness.

Most of you know tomorrow, July 15th will be Sean’s last day working for Flying D Stables. This past Sunday we had a small send off. Thanks to mom for the delicious food and to Meg for the yummy desserts. And thanks to everyone who was able to make it.

A quick video of the party.

Party for Sean before he departs for Washington to become part of the Washington State University police department.

Everyone here at Flying D wishes you all a very happy Thanksgiving day. The horses started the day with turkey and dressing (grain and hay) and will get dessert this afternoon (more grain and hay).

A reminder we will be switching to our winter schedule so inside horses will now be stalled at night.

See everyone soon...

We wanted to let everyone know that from what we've seen so far, Flying D escaped any damage from the storms last night.

I hope everyone is safe and that you don't have any damage yourself.

Covid-19 Shelter In Place Order

We have read the order and I encourage those that haven’t do so they understand what will be happening with business and service providers.

At this point, we are interpreting being allowed to stay open, but there are requirements that must be adhered to. We are sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

No persons allowed on the property with a cold or flu like symptoms.

Social distancing of 6 feet minimum is required at all times.

The barn area is closed with the exception of the bathrooms and entering to retrieve tack from your tack room. Horses will be tacked up outside using the hitching post by the silo. Space is limited to maintain proper distance between riders.

Trails are open.

Arenas are open and you are asked to enter the covered from the outside of the barn.

We ask that no young children or other unneeded guest be brought onto the property while this order is in effect.

Farriers and Vets are still allowed to provide services.

We ask everyone understand we also have our own health concerns. We cannot get sick and be expected to care for the animals. We want to minimize our risks too. We understand getting outside to spend some time with your horse can provide some needed stress relief. We are requiring everyone adhere to the minimum distance requirements and ask you keep travel to the barn to a necessary minimum so we can all get through this virus.

We do need to be clear. We cannot remain open if the statewide orders are not adhered to.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Today is a sad day at Flying D Stables as we said goodbye to Rocky. Mom has had Rocky nearly his entire life and he has been a part of Flying D Stables since the beginning. All that knew him know he lived a charmed life and spent the last 22 of his 33 years overseeing Flying D and meeting all who have come and gone since. He was loved and will be missed.
