In two short years, Garlic City Kitty Rescue has helped dozens of animals find their forever homes!

For every kitten and cat that we rescue off the street, we provide all of the necessary medical treatment to ensure that will thrive and are healthy upon adoption. This includes spay and neuter, deworming, necessary and life-saving vaccinations, flea treatment, and much more!

This Giving Tuesday, Garlic City Kitty Rescue is asking for your help. Whatever amount you are able to give, will be greatly appreciated and put to good use caring for our cats and kittens.

Shawn reached out for assistance a couple of weeks ago when he noticed a few cats at his workplace. In order to skip over my waiting list, he decided to get things done by using low-cost walk-in appointments offered to the public (that he and his coworkers paid for) and a trap a coworker already had.

With just a little guidance, Shawn took his day off to trap Mini {pictured below} and get her to the Clinic for her spay. Because of her spay, Shawn was made aware that Mini had a litter of kittens somewhere and to keep an eye out for them. The very next day, she brought her three kittens to eat.

Shawn will be working on the kittens next, but in the meantime, he caught a second female! She apparently also has a litter somewhere that no one has spotted yet.

Maybe to Shawn it's just one or two cats, but we realize what a difference he has made for them, the kittens and the community. Thank you so much for stepping in to help them!

The laser light toy may initially appear to be a great way to give your cat some exercise. The problem though, is that it doesn't provide the tactile satisfaction of having "caught" anything. Cats have carpal whiskers on their paws that tell them when they have captured the prey and whether there's any movement or not. With the laser toy, your cat never gets that message. Playtime isn't just about getting your cat to move, it's also about providing satisfaction and building confidence. Don't frustrate your cat. Use an actual interactive toy so your cat can enjoy being a successful hunter.

If your cat is obsessed with the laser toy, start the game with the laser and then direct the light onto an actual interactive toy. This way, you can gradually wean your cat off the frustrating light.
